We did on Sunday night

Had me thinkin, what's some of your favorite concoction of crab/shrimp boil?
In ours we do onions, lemons, 1 whole head of garlic, cloved, 1 bunch of parsley. 1 bag of zatarans shrimp boil and then 2 cups of the zatarans powdered shrimp boil. This made about 15 lbs shrimp / heads on. Not sure how much after I took the heads off, then 5lbs red potatoes. 8 corn cobs cut in halfs, and 2 rounds of andouille.

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Don't judge until you try... but here is what I use.

powdered crab boil, usually about half of the container
lots of onions, lemons, garlic, bell peppers, green onions
1 whole squeeze mustard
1 whole whorchershire sauce
1 whole Louisiana hot sauce
lemon oil( hard to find) a teaspoon is all you need.

I have done it may different ways, but this is my favorite.

Ate shrimp and crawfish all my life. Developed an allergy at 21.Try a few pieces every now and then, haven't been able to eat it since. Over the last few months I've tried it a few times with no effects. Ate a dozen last week and was fine. At 29, maybe I outgrew the allergy.

Sure envious of those shrimps.

Do you think the reaction is due to the boil ingredients rather than the shrimp /crawfish?
My wife can eat shrimp and crawfish without a problem until I use a boil mix. When I use a commercial boil mix it's off to the ER.

Different seasonings tear me up. Any of the liquid is bad.

I really like chackbay seasoning.

It first appeared when handling bait shrimp, and anything that had been with shrimp or crabs. Hands would get real sensitive and every bit of skin would peel off. First time it showed up with symptoms other than hands, it was BBQ fried crabs and I ended up in the ER. Thought it was bad crabs / food poisoning. Next few times I tried any shell fish it was the same story. Real itchy, sweating, throat feeling restricted.

Allergies can be developed through prolonged exposure.
I worked for a scientist at UGA that had worked with sorghum and canola for 30+ years and he had developed an allergy to the canola to the point that he had to give it up. He's now working with turf type grasses for golf courses.
