Awesome trip. Hunting was slow on the River, but the salt water more than made up for that. Plus, the scenery was amazing everywhere we went. Here's a couple of pics. I'll have some YouTube videos up soon.

This is a basalt formation on the bank of the Columbia River. There are indian graves there and markings on the rock faces.

Also - just so y'all know, Fiocchi steel is a dirty, dirty firing shell. They did the job, but dang, I think that it's going to take me a week to get the shotgun cleaned.

I have always wanted to go on a sea duck hunt capt! Those birds just don't look as purdy as the birds I typically shoot down here on the tx coast. Definatly looks like a fun time tho and would shore like to try it out!!

Here's a Columbia River redhead. I've shot them on the Gulf Coast in TX as well, and they were no more colored that what we shot up in Washington.

Late season birds are late season birds, no matter what their latitude my be...

I shot a bird one hunt on the Atch. Delta about 12 years ago when I was in college and didn't know what the hell it was. Just so happend I worked for the university along with a professor specializing in aquaculture and birds. Turns out it was a surf scoter. Talk about one lost bird.
