 Red States Vs. Blue States While reading something at work, I decided to do some investigating. All the info came from .gov websites etc. I used the most current information available. I took averages of all the red and blue states. All are averages except #7.
1. Unemployment %
Red States - 6.98%
Blue States - 8.06%
2. Violent crimes per 100,000
Red States - 428.58
Blue States - 451.82
3. Foreclosures (percent of households)
Red States - 0.53%
Blue States - 0.81%
4. State Budget Deficit (% of budget)
Red States - 9.45%
Blue States - 14.62%
5. "Government Assistance" Cases per 100
Red States - 1.31
Blue States - 1.89
6. Military Recruits per 1000
Red States - 5.57
Blue States - 4.07
7. BCS championships (total)
Red States - 8
Blue States - 6
And perhaps most importantly,
8. Ducks killed (2010)
Red States - 419,535
Blue States - 201,329
