When I was with Marathon Oil this was no secret. The Chinese hacked many super majors network infrastructure that was discovered by the FBI in 2009 and stole trade secrets and competitive secrets. Petro-China has made many bids to purchase US based oil and gas interests. In 2010 China overtook the US as the #1 consumer of fossil fuels.

They're coming and your President is going to allow it to make buying US debt attractive to the Chinese.
