A couple fun facts (I looked them up today)
"With 310 million guns in civilian hands, the United States is one of the world's most heavily armed countries." - Newsmax.com
"There were 11,000 homicides with firearms in the United States last year." - Newsmax.com
There are an average of 37,711 fatalities due to automobile crashes each year over the last 7 years -
http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/Pubs/811642.pdfSo even though we are one of the most heavily armed countries in the world, we still have over 3 times as many people die each year due to automobile crashes than firearm related homicides. I looked it up, just thought I'd share.
