Not every female has to be a ranger or some other super commando. Only the very best female specimens should qualify for combat duty. There are many. You just can't say that every female should be disqualified. What you can say is that most wont. Women used to stay at home, women couldn't serve on juries until after the 1960's. Columbia and Harvard didn't admit women until the 1980's. Are we worse off because of this? Everyone thought they couldn't do the job back then and they were all wrong. If you deny that, then you're not being honest. I think the same will apply to the armed forces once enough time goes by. |

Ranger I'm with you all the way. I've served in all male units and mixed, the atmosphere is so drastically different. I've had to not only carry the pack but rifle too of females in the unit while only doing a 8 mile hump. Really brings down morale of other members in platoon. Women in military I'm not against, women in combat ready infantry units.....HELL NO!!!!!! |

Thanks for your service Ranger. Yeah them young ones got a ton of fight and even more ego & cockyness. Lol. I got a few buddies that are Rangers, ranger school is some tough shit. I got much respect for all you SpecOp guys in every branch. |

Rangerp, where you in somalia? I know a couple of guys that were there one with the rangers the other was delta force. I've always had a dream of joining the military but I have that fork mouth disease but I'm working on it working out five days a week and running on the weekend. If they allow women to go into ranger school, it will change. The physical requirements of women marines is lower than male marines. So if only the capable women should be allowed then why did the Marine Corps change the PFT? I would never teal hunt with you. Actually as you saw, I refused to go to your mud run because your stance on the solider who got denied service at a gas station while wearing a uniform. |

Dguirdy women are already serving in combat roles and have been for a few years. We have women pilots, women truck drivers, and a few others but that's not what this topic was about, it was about spec op schools....Rangers. You speak about the Israeli force being 70% women, well the Israeli forces are some badass mofo's ...they are brutal in their tactics, their hand to hand combat is brutal 'krave maga', they also believe that a 20% loss of civilians is completely acceptable in crisis and hostage scenarios and lastly ALL. are required to serve at least 2yrs in the military. As should be here!!!! |

One additional thing Dguirdy, women Marines already do the crucible....it is a Marine Corps course that is required to graduate Marine Corps bootcamp. It is NO comparison to any elite spec op school. |

Rangers is not a traditional combat role....nor is seals or recon or delta force or pararescuer or combat controller or eod or rescue swimmer. So quit comparing what you are saying to the spec op forces. Yes technology is incredible which it has made it better for groud forces but it never replace the ground pounder. Something you may not realize, a huge chunk of those laser guided bombs well guess what....they are laser guided by a spec op troop somewhere close by. How do you think they get the intel on this hides.....spec ops. And yes we do carry that much weight on a regular basis. |

I dont see why this topic is so complicated. If a woman can qualify using the same standards or test as a man, then why not? The standards should not be lowered though, simply because shes female. Thats true gender equality. If a 300 pound female got drafted to the NFL as a lineman because shes actually meaner, stonger and tougher than the rest of the draft, more power to her. |

This just blow my mind even Canada will not let woman in combat units. The one part I don't like about woman in combat is what will happen if they get captured. Even dean has to admit that the chance of them being gang raped is almost 100%. I would never want that to happen to any woman no matter how tought she though she was. Just one more reason to not let them be in combat roles. If things keep up you guys might need us to fight your wars
