“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by dictatorship" “The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence: 1) From bondage to spiritual faith; 2) From spiritual faith to great courage; 3) From courage to liberty; 4) From liberty to abundance; 5) From abundance to complacency; 6) From complacency to apathy; 7) From apathy to dependence; 8) From dependence back to bondage ...” Alexander Tyler, 1787 |

We are slipping down that slope. Are these the days before rome fell? Technology designed and invented here....aint made here. People subsidized to do noting. What are we great at? Football is about it. Kinda like the old coliseum and gladiators....we are 26 in the world for education but pay more than any country for that education. We now put parents in jail if their kids arent at the indoctrination centers....im mean schools. Our politicians write laws that rule us but not them. The government is robbing us blind by printing money and devaluing our savings. We subsidize and promote the murder of babies. We turn our backs on those who have helped us. And finance our enemies.....that just some of our greatness. I can compile a more complete list if you would like. How about this. You put a list together of our current greatness and ill do the same for our current decadence. And we will see just how great we are or not. sent from the former Republic of Texas. |

“… America is great because America is good. When America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” ~Alexis de Tocqueville Notice that he did not say anything about "Government". He was talking about the people. America is fallling, and not because our government, we are falling because of our people. It is the people that scare me. They put Obama in office, he did not take it by force. We murder our own babies, the wicked sodomites are getting more and more accepted, we rob from the hard working to give to the lazy, most of our churches stopped preaching and are just rock and roll shows, our children are disobedient.... 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. |

If our politicians were rightous, id agree its the people not the government. But look at what is said and then what is done by those politicians who come from the people. With the liberties and freedoms we loose due to those politicians and their wicked schemes I have to blame washington who has sculpted and indoctrinated the people to be what we are now. I am very sentimental for what america was. But I am not blinded by those sentimental FEELINGS. Again ranger...if you were coming of age now, and know what you know now. Would you enlist to serve this government? You may say you serve the people, and that is very honorable but you serve at the whims of the commander in chief and congress. We the people have no control. sent from the former Republic of Texas. |

Eljefe Your comment - "You may say you serve the people, and that is very honorable but you serve at the whims of the commander in chief and congress. We the people have no control." Negative my friend. I serve to protect the constitution. I do not serve the "will of the people". "....do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion...." Notice the part about "all enemies, foreign and domestic". So what exactly is a "domestic enemy"? Just for arguments sake, if Ranger P got a wild hair, decided that I no longer like our constitution, and decided to fight against it. If I went out, started a UNDERGROUND group that is pro communist, and in an effort to spur a communist revolution, lets say I went out and blew up bombs at the Pentagon, and in subways in major cities. Would that make me a domestic enemy? If your answer is "Yes, that would make Ranger P a domestic enemy", then we are living in interesting times. If my example went over anyone's head, then study Bill Ayers. Bill Ayers and others started a group called the Weather Underground. It was a pro communist group, and they did blow up bombs at the Pentagon ,and in our major cities. Ayers was arrested by the FBI, but got let off on a technicality. He is now a professor at the University of Chicago. I would argue that Ayers is a domestic enemy. I would also argue that my mom was correct when she used to say "you are the friends you keep". Oh yea, I forgot to mention. When President Obama ran for the Senate Seat, he declared that run in the house of Bill Ayers. |

Dguidry so what part about Obama declaring his run for the senate in in the house of Bill Ayers do you not like? We do know that he did declared his running for the senate in Ayers' house. We do know that Ayers did side with the communist in the Vietnam War, and it was not so much that he was against the war, as he was against us winning the war against communism. We also know that Ayers, Dorne, and the Weather Underground blew up bombs here in America, trying to spur a communist revolution. Is there something about the facts that rub you wrong? |

I swear, the doom and gloom...? We live in the greatest place in the world and in the best time to be living. I see crimes against the person and property decreasing and some crimes almost eliminated with the advent of anti theft technology and surveillance. It's a tough time to be a criminal right now and it will get tougher. |

Regarding Ayers.... If George Bush shit in the woods on his ranch does that mean all of West Texas is a cesspool. My lord, how far do you need me to carry this logic for y'all to understand it does not deduce as you would like it too. |

Dguidry Your comment "Regarding Ayers.... If George Bush shit in the woods on his ranch does that mean all of West Texas is a cesspool. My lord, how far do you need me to carry this logic for y'all to understand it does not deduce as you would like it too." Bill Ayers blew up bombs in America. That is terrorist activity. Bill Ayers has not changed his mind since those days, and is every bit the communist now as he was then. Consorting with communists and terrorists is not something I would take lightly. I do not take the destruction of America lightly, and neither should Americans If I decided to get out of the Army and run for congress, I would not declare that run in the house of a domestic enemy of America. I would not consort with communists, socialist, terrorists. Obama was a community organizer in the fashion of Saul Alinsky (another communist). Obama sat in the congregation for 20 years in the church of an anti Jewish pastor who preached black liberation theology. Obama was mentored at the feet of a known card carrying communist (Frank Davis Marshall). When in college, he consorted with socialists and said as much. His father was a communist and said as much. I served during the cold war, and Communism is as much of an enemy today, as it was 50 years ago. |

Dguidry - got some educational reading for you. William Ayers' forgotten communist manifesto: Prairie Fire http://www.zombietime.com/prairie_fire/ One little quote from his book "Our final goal is the destruction of imperialism, the seizure of power, and the creation of socialism. Our strategy for this stage of the struggle is to organize the oppressed people of the imperial nation itself to join with the colonies in the attack on imperialism. This process of attacking and weakening imperialism involves the defeat of all kinds of national chauvinism and arrogance; this is a precondition to our fight for socialism. " Now, go read comments from Obama's father, and notice the parallels from Ayers and Obama Sr. The communists think alike |

another quote from Obama's freind Bill Ayers "White supremacy and racism continues to be the dagger point of American democracy. I do believe that. I believed it then, I believe it now." Hmmm, Now look at Obama's recent comments about little dope smoking thug Trayvon Martin. Is it any wonder that Obama picked Ayers house to kick of his run for the Senate Seat? |

and yet another interesting quote from Ayers "We were anti-authoritarian, anti-orthodoxy, communist street fighters. ... I want to embrace...draft resisters, deserters, tax avoiders... " Wow, sounds like he may have helped pick Obama's cabinet members |
