I just received this email from Sen Vitter's office. I did it. Now I encourage you to do it. Dear Friend, After several weeks of town hall meetings in every corner of Louisiana, I’ve heard one thing over and over: folks across the state think Obamacare is a train wreck and they are concerned about the future of their health care. Some in Washington, including those who wrote and passed the bill, are worried too. And after intense and, sadly, bipartisan lobbying and scheming in Washington, the Obama administration announced that it is creating out of thin air a special rule to ease the pain of Obamacare – for Washington only. These recent maneuverings inside the beltway are precisely why the American people rightly despise Congress. The special rule is particularly offensive and obnoxious and I’m trying to stop this from happening with new legislation. My colleague, Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and I will be introducing legislation that gets right to the core of this Obamacare “fix” for Washington. Some of our colleagues may try some slick maneuver to avoid political backlash by allowing Members to hide their exemption from the public, but our amendment is clear – and would eliminate any exemption. |

Congressman Boustany (Repub.) is a former Cardiac Surgeon who collects disability. Does anyone see the hypocrisy? He's against any health care proposal that will affect his fellow surgeons' pocketbooks. He's a nice guy, though. His nephew just graduated from Harvard and was my son's high school classmate. I'm currently in the process of examining new health policies with Obamacare in mind. It'll take effect Jan 1 2014 and the application period begins in October, I think. Looks like it'll save me a bunch of money in monthly premium payments. No longer will your premiums be based on preexisting medical conditions. If you make less than about $40,000 per year you or your employer will get substantial premium subsidy reimbursements. Everyone will have healthcare and there will be no questions anymore about coverage when you need to see a doctor. Eventually, we'll move towards a single payer system which will be much more efficient; will reduce the doctors' overhead expenses significantly. |

I just re-read the constitution. I failed to see healthcare mentioned. I guess James Madison thought you were smart enough to handle it on your own. |
