3rd party players getting paid to defend HC !

By Julian Hattem - 11/25/15 04:26 PM EST
Sen. Chuck Grassley appears to be worried that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is coordinating the legal defense of her unusual email system with former aides and outside companies.

According to an invoice from September, the Colorado-based firm that handled Clinton’s private email server billed her for “legal defense” and “PR” related to the device. The company reportedly billed $22,000 for the two line items.

“The invoice raises questions as to whether Secretary Clinton has similar arrangements with other people or entities associated with her email server,” Grassley (R-Iowa), who leads the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote to lawyers for Clinton and her former top State Department aides on Wednesday.
“In light of this, it is important for the committee to know whether Secretary Clinton and her attorneys are providing financial support, legal support, or other coordination to those associates of hers who are involved in congressional committee and federal law enforcement inquiries relating to her email server.

“In particular, the committee needs to know whether the parties involved have participated in any third-party fee arrangements or joint defense agreements,” he added, warning that those arrangements could pose a conflict of interest.

Grassley noted that Bryan Pagliano, the former State Department employee who helped set up and maintain Clinton’s server, has discussed legal immunity in exchange for testimony about Clinton and her former advisers.

As such, his participation in possible joint legal arrangements “would raise substantial concerns,” Grassley warned.

Post Re: The Hillary Thread
Even as Hillary Clinton is upping her anti-Wall Street rhetoric, here comes word that the Clinton Foundation is running a private-equity company down in Colombia.

The private-equity field is where Mitt Romney earned his fortune — and hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of negative ads from the Obama campaign back in 2008.

The foundation’s Bogota-based firm, Fondo Acceso, was started in 2010 by Bill Clinton, Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and mining magnate Frank Giustra, with seed funding of $20 million from the foundation’s Clinton-Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative and the SLIM Foundation, the Washington Free Beacon reports.

Anything to hide here? Well, Fondo Acceso took down its website once the Beacon broke the story. And the venture wasn’t even registered as a private-equity fund in Colombia, thereby skirting government oversight. A good move for an investment firm linked to the US secretary of state.

Ken Boehm, a watchdog with the National Legal and Policy Center, notes, “At the minimum, the Clinton Foundation should disclose every company that received investment funds from them, because the public is entitled to know whether those companies benefited from any State Department foreign-aid programs.”

Not to mention the ethical murk of having two charities co-own an investment fund in a developing nation.

Especially when one of those charities is the family nonprofit of a presidential candidate who has raised tens of millions from the financial sector she’s promising to reform.

Does Hillary Clinton have a nonhypocritical bone in her body?

Double Standards ???

A Marine and U.S. Naval Academy graduate who self-reported that he improperly stored classified documents will be separated from the Marine Corps Reserve following a decision by Assistant Navy Secretary Juan Garcia, the Washington Post reported Monday.

Maj. Jason Brezler's emails warned officials about the corruption, including homosexual pedophilia, of an Afghan police chief named Anwar Jan, whose servant later killed three Marines and wounded a fourth. According to the Post:

Brezler’s case first came to light after he sent an e-mail with a couple classified documents attached to Marines in Afghanistan about Jan. Brezler was deployed to Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010, and had worked successfully to have Jan removed from power in another district, Now Zad. Brezler self-reported his spillage of classified information afterward, and the service found that he had been keeping it on an unsecured hard drive.
However unfortunate, the decision to expel Brezler for mishandling classified information is essentially orthodox.

But it came the same day the State Department released a new batch of emails Hillary Clinton sent from her private server while secretary of State. The latest wave contained 325 "confidential" and one "secret" email, rendering the batch's classification rate 6.3 percent, and the highest so far, according to the Washington Times.

Clinton could not enjoy a greater contrast between her classified email fallout and Brezler's. Currently Brezler works full-time for the New York Fire Department and will likely soon be discharged from the Marine Reserves.

Another Email - shows she "Slept In" ! ! !

Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slept in on Saturday following the Benghazi, Libya attacks, missing a staff meeting that was being set up about intelligence issues and the Presidential Daily Brief, according to a new batch of her emails released Thursday by conservative watchdogs Judicial Watch.

"These new Benghazi emails are disturbing and show why Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration had to be forced to disclose them," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a release to Newsmax.

"Hillary Clinton, despite knowing that terrorists were responsible for the attack, allowed her spokesman to go to the Arab world and blame an Internet film."

Further, he maintained that the emails show Clinton "trafficked in fantastical conspiracy theories" suggesting that American conservatives and Israel were to blame for the Benghazi attack and jihadist violence.

"And the crazed email from Sidney Blumenthal shows that she was taking direction on her Benghazi spin based upon attack-style presidential campaign politics," said Fitton.

"Finally, the 'I just got up' email shows that, smack dab in the middle of the Benghazi crisis, Hillary Clinton fell behind and may have not been fully briefed as she began an intense round of phone calls to foreign leaders."

Wake up Hillary.....

FBI Director James Comey said the FBI doesn’t “give a rip about politics” and that President Obama has not been briefed on the investigation of Hillary Clinton's possibly illegal "homebrew" email server.

Comey was on Capitol Hill testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee when Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) asked about the possibility of the White House interfering with the FBI's investigation.

"In a 60 Minutes interview, President Obama declared in a response to a question about Secretary Clinton's use of a private server, 'I can tell you that this is not a situation in which America's security was endangered,'" Grassley said. "How can you assure the American people that you will not let the White House influence the FBI's inquiry?"

Comey answered, “I hope the American people know the FBI well enough and the nature and character of this organization. As I’ve said many times, we don’t give a rip about politics.”

He added, in apparent reference to Obama, that "anybody's view about an investigation they're not involved in is irrelevant. We care about finding out what is true and doing that in a competent, honest and independent way. I promise you that’s the way we conduct ourselves.”

Comey also told the committee that the president does not receive briefings about the ongoing investigation, so he would have no way of knowing how it is proceeding.

Post Re: The Hillary Thread
WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department has revealed that portions of 275 emails released on New Year's Eve from Hillary Clinton's time as secretary of state have been newly classified.

Clinton has said she didn't send or receive information that was classified at the time via her personal email account, which was run on a private server at her New York home. Republicans have repeatedly questioned whether her use of a private email system put sensitive information at risk.

In all, the State Department said 1,274 of Clinton's emails have been retroactively classified since the department started reviewing them for public release.

Two emails released Thursday were designated "secret," the second-highest level of classification, which applies to information that could cause serious damage to national security if released. Most of the emails were classified "confidential," which is the lowest level of classification.

In a statement Thursday night, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said, "With more than 1,250 emails containing classified information now uncovered, Hillary Clinton's decision to put secrecy over national security by exclusively operating off of a secret email server looks even more reckless."

Post Re: The Hillary Thread
Quid Pro Quo....

Bill Clinton raked in millions from entities with matters before Hillary Clinton’s State Department. Oh, and the Clinton Foundation collected millions more from the same bunch.

In total, The Wall Street Journal reports, two dozen companies and groups, plus the Abu Dhabi government, gave Bill more than $8 million for speeches, even as they were hoping for favorable treatment from Hillary’s bureaucracy. And 15 of them also gave at least $5 million total to the foundation.

At her confirmation hearing, questioners raised the issue of her hubby’s global business. Hillary vowed to take “extraordinary steps . . . to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.”

Count 13 million record fails for those “extraordinary steps.”

Hillary’s solemn promise recalls a line from George R.R. Martin: “Words are wind.” Heck, it must be the House Clinton slogan.

The issue first arose thanks to Peter Schweizer’s book, “Clinton Cash.”

“The really troubling thing about Bill’s speeches is the apparent correlation between his fees and Hillary’s decisions during her tenure as secretary of state,” he wrote.

“The timing of the payments, the much-higher-than-average size of some of them, and the subsequent actions taken by Hillary raise serious questions about just what those who underwrote these exorbitant fees were actually paying for.”

Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon says “no evidence exists” connecting State Department actions under Hillary to Bill’s lucrative speeches.

“No evidence” — there’s a compelling defense, right up there with “no smoking gun.”

But enough evidence exists to prove the Clintons are dedicated to blurring every possible ethical line. It’s “two for the price of one” — and anyone with the cash can buy.

Post Re: The Hillary Thread
Adoring media were only too happy to report that Hillary Clinton won the congressional Benghazi hearing in October. It capped a good week for her, they said, maybe her best yet. But this is 2016, and Benghazi's back.
The Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, have become an open wound for this country that won't close.
Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens — the first American ambassador killed by hostiles since 1979 — were murdered by Islamic terrorists. No one — neither the terrorists who committed the act of war nor U.S. officials who failed to protect our citizens and assets — has been held accountable.
Clinton, secretary of state at the time, has said more than once that she takes responsibility for what happened. But her words are meaningless. She's just hoping that if she says them, she'll be lauded for her unflinching character and the issue will go away.
But it won't.
In the same month Clinton's lead over opponent Bernie Sanders has almost vanished, her email scandal has grown worse, husband Bill has gone from asset to liability and now a movie that puts her in a poor light has been released.
"13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," which opened Tuesday to a buzzing crowd, is the story of the five members of the six-man security team who survived the attacks. The movie includes the contentious words "stand down," an order that three CIA contractors who eventually fought the terrorists insist was given to them as they prepared to defend U.S. officials and American facilities.
The administration, however, has maintained throughout that the order was never given.
Two words included in a movie script do not the truth make. Hollywood is not an unimpeachable source of historical accuracy. It will twist facts to tell a story and sell tickets — though the facts are typically twisted in favor of Democrats.
However, Rep. Trey Gowdy, chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, said last week that more than one witness has testified that the order was given. The Washington Examiner reports that "Gowdy said 'there were no assets that could have gotten there' in time to save Ambassador Chris Stevens and Sean Smith, two Benghazi victims who died of smoke inhalation earlier in the evening of Sept. 11, 2012."
But he did acknowledge that it was "eminently fair" to ask if "assets could have arrived in time to save the other two victims, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods."

Clinton, of course, would ask, "What difference, at this point, does it make?" She's right if she means that nothing done after the attacks could bring back the men who were killed. But that's not what we're concerned about. The issue is what was done — or not done — before and during the attacks.
We're not claiming that Hillary gave the stand-down order. The men who said they received it insist it came from the top CIA security officer in Benghazi.
Ultimately, though, Clinton was responsible — a fact she's admitted to. The State Department, which she headed, had the duty of securing the diplomatic facilities that were attacked. There's no way around this.
Hillary was responsible in another way as well. The Libyan war was her war. She wanted it. She got it. And now she has to live with the consequences, which could cost her the presidency.
Given what we know, that's only fair.

Post Re: The Hillary Thread
WASHINGTON — Sensitive information on spies reportedly has been found on at least one email on Hillary Clinton’s private server — as Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned it’s likely that several countries were able to hack into the server.

Fox News Channel, quoting two sources, said an intelligence agency had labeled the contents of the email dealing with one or more spies “HCS-O’’ — the code for reports on human intelligence sources in ongoing operations.

The report quotes a December 2013 policy document that says the designation “is used to protect exceptionally fragile and unique IC [intelligence community] clandestine [human intelligence] operations and methods that are not intended for dissemination outside of the originating agency.”

It’s not known if the information in the e-mails revealed the identity of the source.
The impact on the source, if any, as well as the findings of a damage assessment by the agency that ran the source, was not disclosed.

Meanwhile, Gates said China, Russia and Iran were among the countries with the ability to snoop on Clinton’s server.

“Given the fact that the Pentagon acknowledges that they get attacked [online] about 100,000 times a day, I think the odds are pretty high,” Gates told the Hugh Hewitt radio show Thursday night.

Asked if classified information was compromised, Gates said: “It would depend entirely on what she put on there.”
Congressional investigators reported in October that Clinton’s e-mail account was the target of hackers from China, South Korea and Germany. Russian hackers also tried to breach the account in 2011, hoping Clinton would click on e-mails sent as phony traffic tickets.

Clinton on Thursday night denied a report on Infowars.com that she continued using the private account even after being told it had been hacked. “It’s totally untrue,” she said.

The final batch of the controversial e-mails had been scheduled for release by Jan. 29 — two days before the Iowa caucuses.

But the blizzard that socked the East Coast was good news for Clinton.

On Friday, the State Department asked a federal judge to stretch the deadline to Feb. 29, citing the storm as a reason it can’t deliver the documents on time. State said it suddenly realized that 7,200 pages of e-mails haven’t been sent to other agencies for final review and that task has been made much more difficult by the snow, which sent federal workers home early.

The FBI is ready to indict Hillary Clinton and if its recommendation isn't followed by the U.S. attorney general, the agency's investigators plan to blow the whistle and go public with their findings, former U.S. House Majority leader Tom DeLay tells Newsmax TV.

"I have friends that are in the FBI and they tell me they're ready to indict," DeLay said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"They're ready to recommend an indictment and they also say that if the attorney general does not indict, they're going public."

Clinton is under FBI investigation for her use of a private server to conduct confidential government business while she was secretary of state. But some Republicans fear any FBI recommendation that hurts Clinton will be squashed by the Obama administration.

"One way or another either she's going to be indicted and that process begins, or we try her in the public eye with her campaign. One way or another she's going to have to face these charges."

Last week, Clinton's press secretary Brian Fallon accused intelligence Inspector General Charles McCullough of colluding with Republicans to damage Clinton's campaign for president.

The charge came after a report that McCullough sent a letter to two GOP lawmakers that some of Clinton's emails sent from her private server when she was secretary of state should have been marked with classifications even higher than "top secret."
