I hear that there is a bit of a legal battle going on in a Parish in LA over the use of mud boats.

I also heard that Dean Guidry is neck deep in the fight, and is hooking and jabbing for the little guys, and those that use Mud Boats.

I may not agree with some of his politics, but I respect when folks will step up, and do the right thing. I hope this battle goes well for fellow Mud Boat owners, water fowl hunters, and fishers.

My beef with dean goes way beyond political affiliation, but it's saddening how the members of this website constantly fall for his liberal tricks and tactics. Pretty clear to anyone involved with this that dean did not create this issue. He is clearly the most organized one on the board who has effectively got the parish to reconsider outlawing mudboats. And yes clearly, they were out for mudboats.

I like to fish down there. He has greatly added and help lead this effort. So Dean has clearly helped me continue enjoy fishing with my sons in the future in that area. That effort is worth some gratitude from anyone that rides anywhere in LA, since this kinda of thing spreads.

Imagine what you would do if you found out they were going to outlaw evil mudboats in caddo lake. Would you want dean to help. I would, but I would also stand up, call my state reps and let them know it is wrong. I'm sure Dean would even help you protect your mudboat access.

To me that's worth a "thanks Dean" even from you. Follow Ranger's example and acknowledge that even if you disagree with his politics, that he is doing good work for fellow MMT members.

No, I would not and never will request his help with anything. I would find someone much better for the job. Someone who doesn't constantly vote to strip us of our rights every chance he gets. Him and people like him are the root of this problem, not the solution. He is simply pulling the wool over your eyes with his help on this issue, and it's one thing that may benefit him personally. He doesn't give a flying fuck about how the government tramples all over your rights on any other issue, because it doesn't affect him personally. He constantly backs a party that wants to strip you of your gun rights, limit your ammo purchase, limit your ability to defend yourself, crucify you when you do defend yourself, limit your hunting rights, etc...could go on for days....and all because he's helping you with ONE issue, you want to turn a blind eye to everything else he stands for...sorry, I woulda found a better rep...

BTW, at my age, IQ, and experience level, it is pretty dam hard to pull the wool over my eyes. I have just learned to understand people with different viewpoints and methods.

Yea, you should forget that he votes for and backs people who propose these types of laws, time and time again....you should forget all of that, because you were too lazy to find a decent candidate to help you with your problem and he stepped in to make himself the victim of a situation him and people like him have created...and will continue to create. cb5331 - I am going to agree with you 100% in reference to their being consequences to your vote. When you elect liberal politicians, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Liberals go after your gun rights, they hurt the small business owner, many are against hunting, and they are quickly working to take many of our constitutional rights.


My original post was meant to be light hearted, but I did mean it as a compliment. Dean and I are generally on the opposite sides of every topic on here, and I am not bashful about going after his views . If his profession is able to help fellow members, I wanted to recognize him positively. I try to be fair, even with people who I do not agree with on most topics.



All of that being said, I do hope that this fight comes out in favor of sportsman, and mud boat owners (we are all in the same boat- pun intended).

If Dean is having to fight those he helped elect, then I hope he walks away smarter from all of this and learns a lesson.

Dean had nothing to do with any changes in the ordinance. It was not their intention to ban mud boats. They knew the working was wrong and had every intention of changing it, even before it was talked about on here. It is more about protecting private property than anything. Last yeas the WLF and sherif office got so many complaints it was overwhelming. A lot of locals make a living out of mud boats and they are involved. I agree with CB. Dean is blowing smoke up y'alls ass.
