Why not enforce the laws as they exist now? Novel concept, I know. Send home the ones that are here illegally, instead of creating an environment where there is benefit to break the law by coming here illegally. They missed the boat on enforcing medicare regs, and instead gave us a whole new medical system that is failing. They missed the boat on punishing people that commit crimes with guns, so now they keep trying to make new gun laws. Does anyone notice a trend? |

Seeing as my wife is a permanent resident alien, I have a little experience with this. There are a lot of hoops to run through and even with all those hoops, if the paperwork is filled out properly, it should take less than 18 months to receive your alien registration card. There are also a lot of laws one must follow as a card carrier in order to maintain legal status. Many of these laws haven't been enforced in last 30 years and if they were, the fricken lawyers would tie up the court system to the point you wouldn't be able to get in and contest a speeding ticket. |
