How exactly did you "come about" the Prowler??

So ive been looking for a mk4 VW Golf TDI to drive to work and back for a few months. The other night I was on Craigslist and found one. Turns out the guy that had it wanted to trade for a side by side UTV, so I swapped him my Arctic Cat Prowler for it. Two days later I have a detective at my house telling me that it was stolen form Indiana. When I got it all I got was a bill of sale. I gave him a copy to clear myself. Now, the sheriffs office has picked up the Prowler and its headed back to indiana where it was originally stolen. The guy that had the golf is wanting me to give it back or pay the asking price. I tried to get some advice from a lawyer today, but I live in a small town and all the big shots were busy. Meanwhile, they guy I traded is out, if I give up the car I'm the one out. The det. said the guy would have to sue to get the car, and I the same with who I got it from. I wanna do the right thing, but I dont wanna be the one up shit creek without a gatortail, ya' dig? Any of you fellas been a a predicament such as this one or have any advice for me? . . . . . just for spec-alation thanks in advance |

Why the hell would you buy a car without a title? The dude with your utv is gone and the owner of the golf will get his car back in court. You're fucked... |

i agree on giving the car back, no doubt you got ripped off by someone on the prowler, not the guy with the cars fault |

Yeah, I'd give the car back to the dude and make it straight with him, it's not his fault you fucked up on the Prowler investment...law or no law |
