Post My G3 Build
This is my 16ft G3 with a 23hp copperhead I picked up off of a buddy for a really good deal its a little rough but a good project boat. I am in college so money is tight, but I am going to do what I can when I can.

Post My G3 Build
Shortly after getting the boat, I was giving the motor good cleaning and oil change etc. I came across the belt being wore on the side. I contacted Copperhead and they knew exactly what the problem was. Apparently they had some confusion with one of their parts dealers and they where sent thread sealer instead of thread lock. how this happens I have no idea but they shipped me a new belt and new upper gear with no cost to me. They also threw in a couple tshirts for me to wear during bowfishing tournaments. I switched everything out and I have put about 25 hrs on it since them and no more odd belt wear.

Post Re: My G3 Build
the next step was fixing the floor and deck. the paint was absolutely terrible. also under the deck of the boat smelt of carp and gar slime. So I spent the next couple weeks sanding and cleaning the inside of the boat out. Also this was my girlfriends first time bowfishing and my dogs first time on the boat.

This is some more pictures during the weeks I was sanding and cleaning out the inside of the boat. I decided to bedliner the inside of the boat due to the fact paint just does not hold up to the wear and tear of bowfishing.

So after of hour of slaving away in the Alabama heat in my parents garage the inside of my boat has been sanded and bedlinered. I looks great and holds up a lot better than normal paint. It has also made the inside of my boat quieter but that doesnt matter when im running across the water or running my generator in the boat but it does cut down on the generator vibrations and make it very quite the sitting in the shade drinking cold beers.

My next project was removing two of my Halogen lights and replacing them with metal halide lights. I also added some green LEDs to the inside of the boat during this time. I installed a BPS throttle and throttle cable. The plastic throttle that came on the copperhead was terrible. I have pretty large hands and the tiny plastic one would dig into my hand.

Looks good, the boat and the lady friend!

What is your light rail made of? how is it connected to the deck?

Thanks.

Post Re: My G3 Build
I'm new to the site, just finished my G3 build, I'll post pics of it soon, yours turned out nice! Mines a 1756 and I put a new 36 prodrive on it (2014) it runs good but it's a dog outta the hole with a load. That motor is very heavy and everyone has to move to the front when I'm starting to get on step, thinking about putting some pods on the back to offset the weight some, anyone know if this will help? I moved the fuel tank to the front but the battery is still in the back. Thinking about moving it to the front as well just not sure I want the battery that close to the fuel tank in a fairly closed area. Thoughts?

I have in the process of painting my paint. Last weekend I pulled all the stickers and gave her a good bath. I am using the Styx River Old School Drake camo. I have put two coats of the base coat on. The picture was directly after the second coat when I pushed it back into the garage. This Weekend im going to pull it off the trailer and flip it to begin the stencil process.

Looks real good bro, nice job. I wondered if you were going to leave the monster stickers on. Looks like my kids boat with them on!

Congrats on the baby: but you better buy your shit now before she has it!

Not telling you what to do by any means, but it will be a huge change mostly for the better, except in the financial dept. ;)

Again nice looking rig and it should work out great for you.

What kind of speeds are you getting with the 23? Have you put a GPS on it?

No more black I am very satisfied with the end result it turned out very well in my opinion. I made a couple errors but I was expecting it. Can't wait to get it in the water this weekend.

I scrub it down with bleach water, works pretty good, I used a bed liner called grizzly grip, I scrub the shit of it, been doing it 3-4 months now and still looks fairly new.
