Ikam sucks GoPro much better. Save your money & get the GoPro. The audio distortion on the Ikams is horrible and the glasses (camera) seem to be very sensitive to humidity... Great for on the water

This is a Gopro, I just had the waterproof case on it. I'll make another vid this weekend. I was trying to get stuck to see how hard it would be to get out...gettin used to my equipment in the daylight...

I won't bash brands cause this is the only one I've ever had but I don't see how spinning a prop in reverse will help in heavy vegetation. I don't know any locals with a GTR to compare side by side in this stuff but would gladly for my own satisfaction.

Don't take this the wrong way but what you was in ain't anything bad!! Good thing is if that is the worst stuff you may run after on the tiller awhile you will have it down !!kinda look like I did when I got my new control box! Lol

P.s Gtr would have never stopped. In that lol

Since then I have been through a heap worse, I figured out to keep up the speed, it would have made it if I was going faster. I was about half throttle and was just seeing what it would do. I will note the boat was bottomed out and the power reverse wouldn't pull the lower unit around without bumping the gear and working it a bit.

BTW, it takes a lot to offend me especially when I'm learning something new, I already understand I'm a rookie at this and a professional at other things and just joined this forum to help learn a thing or two from y'all veteran MM runners.

I appreciate any input

well dic it's a good thing you have thick skin because the shit gets deep fast and it often starts over a question like what is the best way to back down my boat by myself.

Don't worry if you keep playing with that thing it's gonna get you somewhere that you shouldn't have gone sooner or later.

Will,

One piece of advice that may or may not help, is to trim down. It looks like you relied on your FPR a little too much. Right when you would stop, you'd immediately hit that reverse switch. I very rarely use my FPR, partly because of the terrain I run but also because I only use it as a last resort. That might be different if I had hydro reverse, who knows.

But my point is the first thing I would've tried was to trim down as far as possible (or close to it) and work the tiller back & forth while giving it enough gas without blowing out. You're trying to get a better bite in the mud and a different propulsion angle if possible. If you keep the prop at the normal running height after you stop, it will tend to blow out.

I imagine you still had room to trim down but the skeg was hitting the bottom and stopping it. I don't know how far down the PD boats can trim with their 10 or 15 degree transoms but it looked like you still had some room to go down. I have a 20 degree transom on my boat so I haven't had a problem yet with limited downward trim (and you may not either).

Just give it a shot next time. You might be suprised at what you can get through, without putting it in 4WD.

Sometimes it bottoms out and you gotta keep working it back and forth to get it to go deeper

What Will said. I am new to this too. It never ceases to amaze me or my guests (this isn't mud motor country) that the motor shoves better when trimmed down. That is sort of counterintuitive to those of us just making the break from outboards.

The more hung up the boat feels, the more you trim the pd down, the better it gnaws its way out! It just doesn't make sense, but it works.
