Yea she moves pretty good. 28.4mph is the fastest so far. But runs a constant 27mph whether its just me or me and builder in the boat, plus safety gear. :D

I hope everyone leaves theirs stock with no polishing anything at all so we have a true comparison. Cause I've already seen a few ways to get a little here and there. And I'll let anyone look to make sure mine is. ;)

Author:  lucecr [ Sat Feb 02, 2013 11:28 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

I'm waiting on a boat inspection for tx numbers so I can get far enough away from ramp to find some shallow water. Don't need a ticket from TPWD when I work for TPWD.

Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

you don't have to have numbers right now, just carry that piece of paper around with your hull identification and motor papers and your good to go. they know its a new boat, don't be scared Luce you all work for the same people lol I jsut carry my bill of sale showing its a new rig

Author:  lucecr [ Sat Feb 02, 2013 11:54 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

I don't get a hull id number til after the inspection. When the warden inspects it he puts the hull id sticker on it and then hides another one. It's considered a homemade boat.

I can show you where they are gonna hide it... Satch did mine

Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

well thats what mine is a homemade, huh Borel had all my paperwork ready when i got there, lady at the office says she loves it when a borel boat comes in cause all the paperwork is alredy done. sweet little lady, some peole claim a warden has to look at the boat, never looked at mine, i swear its always someting different

He stamps a hull ID number on it when its done being built.

Cause he builds over 4 boats a year he has all his state tax stuff. Jay doesn't have to cause he doesn't built that many a year. Got a feeling that will change this year though.

Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

Yeah you gotta go through the uscg to be able to issue a certificate of origin if not its gonna be registered as homemade

Author:  eljefe [ Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:54 am ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

do you also have to register the motor?

Author:  Team Camo [ Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:04 am ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

TPWD legally requires you to register all boat motors over (I believe) 5 hp. However, I've never had a GW ask to see a motor title, & they don't give you the lil card to carry on you.

Author:  eljefe [ Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:50 am ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

I was trying to understand the law and a new motor dosent need a title, it just needs a title to transfer if you sell it....someone correct me if im wrong.....maybe dgalmo can give us some clarity on Texas law.

Author:  dgalmo [ Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:13 am ]
Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

yea, titling the motor is more or less so you can prove you own it to your buyer if your selling. I've never been asked for my title to my motor either, but the GW is anal about them pesky numbers on the side of your boat, got a ticket for that last year, and still hadnt put the suckers on.

Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

so if you dont plan on selling, there is no need to title it.......and if you do sell it you will need to title it and pay the taxes before hand or reduce price and let buyer do it all.....

If U pay cash for the whole rig it's ur choice to title it, as for I insurance they will ask for serial numbers and such, I just told mine what's its worth and they insured it, I pay 135 a year for both boats

Post subject:  Re: InstaGator w/25gtr

Gigs u can do a signature loan like I did at first but the interest rate will be higher, once I got motor boat and trailer together I switched it over to a normal loan and titled everything
