Post Video of our ride Saturday
BlueShamu put together a little video of our little ride from Saturday.

If ya haven't met Troy he's a great guy. We had a fun little run just wish we could have got a few more boats to come but it was fun either way.

I like the music. Who is that playing? Where was it recorded and by who?

Thanks for inviting me out, PRO. I had a great time following you around the Pearl and enjoyed meeting you, Scott, Big John, Buddy D and Michael. did I get all those names right?

Most people from Alabama would know the guy playing the music. His name is Wayne Mills...of The Wayne Mills Band. He is a friend of mine I used to visit and hang out with way back when. He still tours and plays the college circuit.

YEARS ago, you could find him every Wednesday night playing to a packed house at Harry's Bar & Grill in Tuscaloosa. I didn't realize what kind of following he had in Bama until I saw him in Mobile one year for Mardis Gras somewhere around '99??? He was playing to a sold out crowd at Monsoon's...and everybody there was singing his songs!

If you are lucky enough to have some of his earlier CD's, you will find my name in the credits of the CD "Ain't it Great to be aLIVE AT HARRY'S, TOO" The title represents a follow up to his first "Live at Harry's" CD...with a title track, "Ain't it Great to be Alive."

Anybody from the Morgan City area will recognize the name of an artist he mentions in the Dinosaur cover...Hal Bruni.

Not that quiet, either. I do my best to protect what hearing I have left. I where hearing protection at work, when mowing the grass with a 29 hp Kawasaki on front of me, when shooting guns and when riding in my boat.

I wish I would have started doing that 30+ years ago! You would be wise to start doing it, too.

I think it was too many Van Halen concerts, too much skeet shooting, duck hunting, working in refineries before you were required to wear hearing protection....what hearing I have left, I want to try and keep. LOL...and tired of saying, "Huh?"

Know some of you guys were interested in some of the music on that video. Sad news.

Don't know all the details, yet. Wayne was a dear friend. Guy was just a big, good ole-boy, redneck that played music. Yes, he could raise a lot of cane and lived a "unique" life as an "outlaw musician." But, he was also the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. Can't figure out how smoking a cigarette in a non-smoking section could possibly lead to being shot in the head. Prayers to his wife, Carol; son, Jack; and all friends and fans.
