Yes, it was suppose to be July. However, I had some head work done, also the casting department was a little behind. My kit is getting put together now, then we have to go trough the long process of getting it installed on video. Soon, I will be able to divulge more.
New production is 7 to 8 weeks right now.

Well it came in end of october, I have been really busy with pregnant stuff. As for the unit is a slick yet strong design. Main reason took so long is we were talking back and forth on what was easiest way to convert for the customer. We are going to try this setup on my motor and mb will decide on kit install directions and parts. I can't say when It will be available as this is still in R&D. I will have videos of the unit in action soon, also during hunting season so should be done decent footage. I will get around to finishing the install this weekend, if possible.

So I am not completely done yet, but the first HDR retro lives. I still have to tighten the skeg, and run the air ducting from blower housing to drive unit. Then put the wire cover back on and she is good. I did crank it up run it in and out of reverse, and it will spin the prop nicely. I am currently running the HDR lower unit, with a nicely worn hammer. I have the speeds before to compare. However, you talk about a lower unit, this thing is stout. Will have it wrapped up by Wednesday, then next day it will get hunted.

Even though I haven't slept since my shift ended last night, I got motor wrapped up. I was itching to try it out, so I took it out to the local refuge and tried it out. I tell you the reverse is strong. Tiller torque seemed to be the same, easy to drive. Touched 30 held 29 which was the same with HD. I took some video although it's not great, I was solo. It's tough driving and filming, so far the HDR retro is rocking. Looking forward to getting some better videos out.

So through this weird hunting season we had, I had allot of struggles. As, for the rig it did great. I like the reverse for picking up decoys, and coming off and on trailer. The kit is still in the works, although final stages are soon. Price is still to be announced, a option to purchase the hdr lower unit is available. The price will be pretty high, but your getting allot of stuff, ask my ups guy. I didn't get nearly enough hunts in, but with getting ready for a baby, which made for tough time management. Looking forward to beable to share more when possible.

What's that bottom duck in the first picture?

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Dmax, I'm happy with my HDR as well. Put it in some very different conditions and had nothing negative to say.

Yeah, they are some beautiful birds when full. I plan on mounting this one as it's one of the best drake I have seen in years. They decoy a diver line hard and fast, makes for some great shooting.

Yes they are sweet, I am running the retro test model, so not a true hdr. I am very close to one though.

Will, yes a pd will pull like a motha in reverse. Just can't use em here.

Tperk

The clutch I thought we were talking about reverse, my clutch is forward.

The reverse is a different animal...

Post subject:  Re: Mud Buddy HDR

Thought hdr was an electric reverse. Guess it's not an electric clutch reverse. My cc reverses like a champ with the electric clutch, but the hdr pulls as well. I was impressed with Migrators..

Post subject:  Re: Mud Buddy HDR

It is a electric reverse, it uses three very larger magnets that contact a large rotor. They contact almost 90 % off the rotor, which in turn causes no slippage. So it's not the standard forward clutch used on the reverse. I'm not dogging the electric on gt, is the hdr better I don't know never ran the electric. Better than my old gtr handle model, hdr wins.
