No doubt. I wonder if it is the prop or the gear combo on their sprockets that make that thing reverse so good?

Gt design is planetary and brake caliper, mb design using a clutch. Yes so gt did put a clutch reverse on the cc, but not on the tiller, yet they still use a planetary. Not the same design imo.
Soon we will have a installation video of the hdr, then we can compare designs.

When are they going to start selling the electric reverse tiller models?
Last I recall they were waiting on r and d to decide, if at all they would be manufactured.

Actually it wouldn't since I don't have a MM business card with my name on it like someone I know. I have no affiliation with GT and I've only personally talked to Kyle once in 6 years and two motors.

The first retro kit will be installed in early July, I will be doing a video on the installation. Once testing of the unit is complete, I will consult with MB. Soon after the retro kit will be available for purchase. I cannot give a date on when it will be available. However, I will be updating my thread, and will share what information I can until official release. I can tell you that it is pretty simple setup, and look forward to getting some tiller time with it.

Good deal dmax make sure you get some videos putting it through its paces

Post subject:  Re: Mud Buddy HDR

That I will, during the test phase, it will see deep muck, sand/clay bottoms, endless lillies, thick grass mats, timber, the only thing we don't have mud until winter. So there will plenty of info and actual video showing the installation and the unit in action. I will also be testing with the standard 32 inch drive, then with the new ss 34 inch HDR drive. This will be powered by a 55 mag

Man I wish, I work the weekend shift, which makes it hard for me to take off a whole weekend because there isn't anyone that can cover all our equipment aswell. Also that's half my vacation for the year.... I really wanna make it to Seminole, maybe I'll be able to swing it we will see.

Only issue is I had to take medical leave, due the auto immune diseases I have and medication I'm on. So they made me take all my vacation before I could take my medical leave. I know there shit heads, based out of Cali. Hopefully next year.

That will be very hard to do. I can say I have owned a gtr and drove countless others, so I know how they reverse. I will have a gtr on a sea ark mud runner ride with me at one point. I would like to make it to a ride and get with one of the prodigy with gtr, for closer to accurate test. If possible will definitely get video!

unless the prop is gonna spin so much faster than a gtr i dont see it being any better, only the same.

Post subject:  Re: Mud Buddy HDR

The main difference will be in the mb ability to change gearing. The two systems have there similarities, but the main change in reverse abilty imo, On either units, prop, drive length, angle, boat.

New release as of today

Parts that are needed for the HDR that are not the same on the Hyper model are the tall outdrive casting, the clutch cover, the reverse transmission assembly, one relay, and a new shift switch. You may or may not want to add the new cavitation plate. The new cavitation/splash plate will be shown sometime this week. The kit will be about $1760 without the cav plate.

Again, the kit will not be available until next year, near the holidays.

Post subject:  Re: Mud Buddy HDR

It would be more cost effective to buy a hdr new. The only thing is they are epa regulated now. So no mags, bd 4400 most can get. Yet if you have a hd, and really want reverse, there is an option.

It does not matter tall or short the belt housing is different. The clutch cover is also larger. This is to accommodate the new setup.
Note these photos are of hd outdrive parts NOT the HDR
