Re: 1648 weldbuilt 18 Copperhead Nice, looks like it runs pretty good! Im trying to decide between a 16hp and 22hp on a 14ft alweld. This makes me think the 16Hp would be just fine for me. What do you think?

What do you think? 18 runs pretty good but I am moving up to a 23.seems like there is always more to carry so I want a little more horses for the load. I have never heard anyone say they wish they had a smaller motor so unless you are going to just have 2 people and gear I would go bigger if you have the money in the budget. We have a 1442 with a 12 hp Copperhead that runs great with two but won't get on plane with 3. 16 ought to be fine for 2 plus gear but the boat is small so getting the load in the correct place is key with any boat.
