Re: Beavertail surface drive??? If the 40 Kohler is anything like the 27, IMO it would be better than a Briggs. The early ones that I have encountered had carb issues (tuning), but I have heard through the grapevine that this has been resolved and the pullers are starting to use and mod them.

Re: Beavertail surface drive??? I loved my 27 Kohlers, couldn't kill 'em, no problems. I would run a big block Kohler in a heartbeat if they worked the bugs out.
