Re: PD or MB
i dont know bout the mb but the pd will perform very well in gras, mud or whatever u got to throw at it. i have a 16 ft carolina skiff and in deep water i cannot get on top of the watter with 3 people but in the shallows it will run with a load. and a must is fpr it might be a extra 500 dollars and you dont think you need it but when you do you will be sorry for not getting it.

Re: PD or MB
Depending on how heavy those 3 guys are the 27hp is marginal or underpower on many hull designs...
My 27hp GDSD on a 17x42 very light (350lbs) square chine boat will put 2 @ 220lbs up to 24mph --- 3 @ 220 PERFECTLY BALANCED will just barely get up on plane to 18mph... With a dang near new prop - any prop wear and forget it...
So you really need more than 16 feet length with "most" hull designs to achieve your goals - unless it is a wide design...
But between PD and MB - go PD - (or 27 GDSD)

Re: PD or MB
da load ur tryin to push is too much for dat size engine on dat boat.... da only way you'll get away with pushin a load like dat with a motor dat small with any kind of authority is with a long boat. 20' long IMO.

Re: PD or MB
Get the biggest motor you can afford, especially if you are going to change the hull. It will give you alot of options on the new hull.
