Post Bps Q muffler problems
Anybody have broken baffles on a Q? Mine does. It also has a cracked pipe where it meets the flange on one side. The other side is cracked where it meets the muffler. :x

That stinks. How many hours you think are on it? Can't be many.

Haven't heard or read any complaints about the Q. It has a pretty solid reputation. I put nearly 300 hours on my Q before the outlet cracked. And really, I blame myself for that crack. The only drawback of removing the cavitation plate from my PD...it allowed water to spray up on the hot muffler. It started buckling and the outlet weld eventually cracked. I loved and miss my BPS Q.

How many hours are on it? What was it mounted to? If you have relatively low hours i'd call BPS and see if they could help you out. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I had a Q crack numerous times with under 20hours.

Took it to a guy that welds stainless custom headers for a living. Said it was the thinest junk SS he has ever seen.

It probably has around 100 hours on it. I'm just going to weld it back up and see if it holds.

I've got two cracks in mine 2, got them at about 75 hours.

If I unplug my spark plugs, can I safely weld the cracks with the muffler still mounted to the motor? I'm lazy.

I would pull it off then weld it! You don't want to pull the heads and pistons from a piece of slag!!
