Losing faith in how honest of a guy Ben is, I have been told 3 different story's why my motor hasn't been sent out yet. 3 weeks after I was told I would have the motor.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I own a Dixie mud motor 35 and its on a 1544 excel f4 and I have absolutely no complaints what so ever!!!!!!! The motors are very inexpensive and well worth the money. I'm in the process of becoming a dealer now. My boat will run right beside a 7000 no problem!!!!!!!! If anyone has any questions about these motors feel free to email me at sprayman4630@gmail.com.

thanks i'm happy with it ,just got back from a 2 day hunt with it ,ran great held up no prob with the unit ,i can't say enough about the low idle from the 25 Kohler ,smooth and great while moving along setting and picking up of decoys, great bottom end. also i like the way Ben set up the trim box out at the end of the trottle area one handed operation , waiting on the Dixie 4hp have a tricked out boat that unit's going on it's going to turn a lot of heads and it will end up being a killing machine when complete, will go to market and if done in time will be at the harrison show in PA in febuary 2013 P.S. Ben u suck LOL your 2 hrs late and i want my money back LOL

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I heard that. I put a carb kit on mine to get the idle speed i wanted. She will purr at 600rpm. Before with the stock carb it was around 1300-1400 i think. A low idle is the best thing since sliced bread.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Gotta love starting a profile to hate on somebody. Why cant you bitching ass motherfuckers get a life. He is sending out motors as fast as they can build um. Also if you were offered another motor and you said no thats your own dumbass fault. I wish Ben could get on here to set this shit straight. Half of these stories are one sided as hell. I am very good freinds with Ben and know good and well how he treats people.
If you need to air your shit out do it between you and Ben.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Any of you on here know how to put in a belt on the 10 hp Dixie SDs? Mine snapped on the fifth trip out and I called Ben about it. He hasn't gotten back to me yet. So I bought a belt from Ebay. The brand of the belt is called Gates. Do you guys know if this will work or should I wait until Ben sends me one from his shop. I did notice that the orginal was a bit thicker and softer than the one on Ebay.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
you guys shouldnt bash polarisguy so fast.
I placed an order for a 6.5hp from Dixie on 8/25/2012 and still have not received it yet. From talking with Ben directly its clear that there is some problem getting their hands on the Briggs motors from their supplier. I have cycled many times through boiling rage that is only diffused by Ben calling back and talking direct.
The rage comes from hearing over and over 'in 2 weeks we will ship it' and thats time comes and goes, goose and duck seasons lost and stuck running a outboard in the mud.
Clearly Ben is swamped with work, I guess its the negative to making a great product that in underpriced. Whenever he calls back I feel bad for him, sounds like a lot of guys curse him out over delayed deliveries, but they could do more to reduce peoples frustrations
key point is that you should not bash polarisguy over his frustration, his sitation might be like mine, waiting 14 weeks for a shipment with no tangible expectation date visible. People like us are trying to relax and support a great US small business, but understand that Dixie needs to greatly up their communication level and provide buyers with more difinitive and realistic shipping dates. I dont know about you guys but I have never gotten any email reply from Dixie, they should at least hire some highschooler to reply to emails. Its really tough and a downer to miss a full season of hunting because they did not tell the full situation, if I had know I could have made some backup plan.
when i get that god damn motor i will love it and cherish it....if it ever comes

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
That knocking sound your hearing is the cog belt skipping on the gears, which is not good. You need to raise up the motor on the mount to tighten up the belt. Go to the hardware store and get some thick aluminum to use as shims and raise up the motor. I had the same thing happen to my 10hp and didn't realize what it was until I had the belt stripped out when I was out in the middle of the water.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Yep. Supposed to ship...I promise...I want to be friends...out of business in a year.
Even if he had come through on his bullshit promises to make things right, the guys around here think he's full of shit and there's nothing I could say to change that. That's what you get for F'ing a guy around for a season.
Now that Christmas is over I'm going on a cruise. When I'm back from that I'll have time to make good on my promise to tell my tale far and wide...unless of course he comes through on his promise.

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Well went out hunting Saturday morning had a 7 mile run mostly shallow creek waters. Got about a mile from the hole and the clutch went out. Not the first time having problems with this 35 HP Dixie. Ready to see how their customer service is. Still under warranty. I believe we got a lemon. When the motor is running correctly it is very strong and does well in sallow water. I hope we can get it back running soon!

Re: Dixie Mud Motors
Finally got my 35 Dixie Monday installed it on my 1648 grizzly, after the long wait the quality of the frame looks top notch, ran it yesterday while I'm still in the break in period I did open it up for a second and got 27 mph out it only turning 4030 rpms might need to adjust it so I can get 4200 or so out of it, so far so good , I'm ready to see how long it will last
