It all depends on what you wantin. Simplicity(GDSD) Clutch (MB) Clutch and reverse(PD) or clutch and instant reverse(GT) It's all in what you want and where you run.

I would stay away from the mudbuddys as other members have said they have extremley poor service after the sale. My bud purchased one on a rig several years ago. He had it for a year and it spent a good 8months in the shop.
Had problems ranging from clutches to cracked pistons. (piston cracked 6th run out).. After the third clutch he contacted the owner of Mudbuddy and was told "Well I guess you got a lemon," Bud asked what he was gonna do about it, the owner responded "If I got a lemon truck the dealer wouldn't take it back." and hung up

Deadbird I was with my buddy most of the times we broke down...I also went with him to pick it up from the shop, only to run it and carry it right back because it wouldnt run, or kept stalling out.
So its not just a "my buddy said"

Ditto the go big comment. You will get a bigger hull later...not if but when...and you will wish you got a 35 or 36 HP motor.

I owned four Mudbuddy shorttails over the years, the last three of them being 35s. I now run a Prodrive 36. It is not slower than the MB...in fact it was a mph faster than the MB 35 on the same hull.
