Maybe the guy runs an outboad on the boat sometimes and thats why he has the jackplate.

I'm going with Dual Prodrives, with Hydro Jackplates... This will insure me to get deep enough in the mud.

Den whats ur point?

Post subject:  Re: Jackplate...

Just tinkin' out loud here, no offense, but you might have trouble with backwash while reversin'; and since motor sits high, you will have high center of gravity which might result in stability issues while standin' up driving...just be careful.

Just put the 4th one on last week and new Briggs oil filter
and fuel/water seperator....

I won't have any more maintenance to do this year....

Unlike you boys who have to "touch" their thang after each trip....

And you will not be backing up without a push pole either

Post subject:  Re: Jackplate...

You should at your age a longer/stronger pole will help just remember to try and keep the weight at a minimum. I'd hate to hear that you had a heart attack while trying to back up.

If you need a spare let me know I've got a like new push pole that does not see much action and its a shame for it to just lay in the bottom of my boat.

I thought the jackplate was a good fix. Tall motor, short transom..y not!

There's always that one guy on every forum. Giga u always seem to leave me speechless by ur nieve comments. Do u believe all the retard shit u say?

Post subject:  Re: Jackplate...

I would think that the jackplate would help to get the motor deep in the mud. Anytime someone is stuck it seems that if the prop could go a little deeper in the mud, it would help.. WELL.. Heres the solution.

I see what you mean J, it could give you a couple inches vertical drop and raise it up when your goin good. Hope its hydraulic or it would be a pain in the azz.
