Post Hydro Steering or Teleflex?
I'm getting a new PD36 with steering and trying to decide if I should fork out the extra bucks for the hydraulic steering or stick with the standard Teleflex. Any thoughts? How do you guys with either the Teleflex or Seastar like them?

Been in a boat with teleflex, we put that lower unit in some thick mud and tore that steering up quick. Motor became a tiller steer with out the stick. One person bear hugging the motor to steer it and one at the console to work the throttle and trim. Hydrolic steering is the only way to go.

i have teleflex and i want to put hydro on mine because that teleflex is hard to steer in the mud and to make quick turns in the marsh in small canals and sloughs. hydro is the way to go when i get the money im switching over

I have run a dozen or so rigs with teleflex on a single motor set-up and never had an issue, but we buy the top of the line steering and cable, not the budget ones. I have also run teleflex on two dual rigs and now run hydro on our new dual demo rig. I like the hydro on the duals, it is very responsive. I can see where it would be nice on a single engine rig, but not really needed IMHO.

Get the hydralic myboy. Teleflex is crap, even the anti feed back compaired to Hydralic. The hydralic lines can be ran how ever and where ever you want them with out compromising steering tension. and the lines are easier/cheaper to repair/replace than the cables. Well worth it imo.
