Bending skeg ??
The tiller handle really pulls to the right. Should I bend the skeg to the left if looking at it from behind? Also, there is something screwed to the skeg as shown in the the pic. Do I take that off and move it or just bend the skeg with that in same spot. How much do you bend the skeg??

Re: Bending skeg ??
not sure about your type of motor, but you sure you just don't have it trimmed up too high or something simple like that?

Re: Bending skeg ??
I can't see the pic, but I am sure you are talking about the torque tab that GT puts on the skeg plate. Mine fell off pretty quick, really don't understand why they don't weld those on. I bent mine and it made a world of difference. You can leave the tab on or take it off. I would just go ahead and take it off and throw it away then bend the plate.

Re: Bending skeg ??
scotty, before you go bending the skeg, move your weight around...try to balance it out, because i can make mine push or pull me just by moving someone from one side to the other. Woody

Re: Bending skeg ??
my GTR pulled a little but not bad so bent it some more and it worked great. Went from a six gal. to an eight gal. and changed sides of boat and motor started to pull again. Had to straighten it back out so play with weight and bending to fine tune your motor. worked for me
