Had a guy I know that was sold a brand new 23gtr/boat combo a while back. We had some problems with the motor/performance. I know the boat is way too large (thats a whole other story, apparently boat shows love to prey on people that havent had a ton of experience with MMs. They told him bald-faced lies), but I had some questions about the actual motor. The OOW rpms were suffering, around 32-3300ish. I havent fooled with gtrs, only mudbuddys. Unless GTR did some crazy gearing on this thing thats way too low. Do they include rev limiters on their stock 23s? Stock, I spun around 4300 and an old 23 gtr I know of spun around 4200. Anybody else had similar problems or will this be a simply turn up on the carb? |

Even if t is gears different the oow rpm's would be the same as any other motor and the rpm should be around 3800-4200 oow |

make sure your getting enuff fuel .. and i had to turn my carb up also .. to get it to turn 3900 rpms |

Who told him bald faced lies? Rpms are entirely to low....turn them up to 4000. |

My gtr 23 spins 4010 out of water and around 3200 to 3400 in water depending on load |

I know if your not getimg the prop out the water enough its gonna slow your rpms down alot mine crusin in deep water runs 3500 3400 and when im in shallow and the prop is a good ways out maybe 3600 to barely 3700. Not trying to hijack but turning up your carb to do 4000 to 4200 how do u do that??? |

Had a automotive 12v fuel pump added on the one I had this winter, and that Lil' sum Bi---ch would flat out run. |
