So I'm looking into buying a new 12hp copperhead for my 1548. However 2.7 quarts of fuel won't get me very far. I plan on using it to run the wapsi river, so my question is to any of you copperhead owners. Whats it take to install a remote tank?

does your engine have an alternator? if not you can pulse pump it. like the mikunis that are on most small engines. i just put an e pump on my 9hp lifan, it has a 3 amp alternator. http://www.affordablegokarts.com/ try this link for some ideas.

Garjacker, these little motors don't have alternators. So he does have to use the pulse pump option.

You need to get a diaphram fuel pump. The kind that pulses off crankcase pressure.
This is something that you would need.

This may help you out.

If you still need help, give Gil a call. He has a remote fuel tank setup on his 12hp.

You would be amazed how long one will run on a tank.
My 13 honda can run all weekend on a tank and a half.

Carry a 5 gallon can with you and refill it whenever you get low.

How long of a run are makin?

we will be runnin this motor for a few hours at a time. I'd just a soon have a remote tank, because the river I run has very swift current with lotsa snags in it. I could just see runnin outta go go juice at the wrong time and endin up in one a those snags.
