Post subject:  prodrive clutch help

I have a '07 36hp prodrive.
The clutch is making contact with plate to turn the prop, when in neutral.
I can hear it rubbing slightly, but when I put it in gear there is no problem.
When in neutral the prop wants to turn slightly.
When engaged I can see that the plate to turn the prop spins "out of round", like the plate is not completly round.
Any thoughts.

I thinks you need to just run it until it fails, if it ever does. :)

rob, you might have some rust on your clutch. Rev up your engine and engage it, it might allow the clutch to take off some surface rust and it might keep that from happening but i think you should be ok

Everything was working fine all weekend then, Sunday on the way in, I heard it rubbing in neutral. I think the bottom plate is bent somehow.
There are some metal strips on the bottom of the plate, and one has a bow in it.

Thanks, Stumpy. I'll give them a call for the part and change it.
