I should be getting my MB 5000 this week for my 3 man hide. Anyone running this rig? Curious to know what kind of numbers I should be seeing.

The kind of numbers in ducks ???

Always like the looks of this rig -- if you can learn to shoot well from a layout position -- it looks like a duck killing machine ! ! !

It might be a tad heavy --- I would want a winch option for those days
where some boat draggin could happen ! ! !

And - to shoot some skeet out of the boat sittin on the trailer during dove season to get sharpened up on shooting from the layout position ! ! !

But I bet that MB 5000 makes it haul butt in 5 inches or more ! ! !

Send up some duck numbers in the REVIEWS when Sept comes ! ! !

I guess I should specify... I need speed info. There was the MB with intake and exhaust on it before and it hit 27 in skinny water with 3 men, dog and all the gear so the new one should roll.

i have a 3 man hide with a 35 MB sport, never saw speeds like the info giga had posted. the boat is heavy but not so heavy it cant be moved easily with one guy in an 1-2" of water once to the huntin spot (never tried to drag it across dry land).

I was hitting low 20-23 w a hunting load, not good enough for my needs so sent the motor for a stage III, i'm told low 30's shouldnt be a problem with the modded motor and with a load mid 20's. your 5000 should be close to the same i would think, good luck. you wont find a more comfortable boat to hunt out of.

i really like the gatorhide. i wouldnt ever get one because down south it just doesnt fit my needs..and not sure bout the layin down thing but i think the concept is great, and looks great.

because i hunt big open water with a lot of chop, and do a lot of red fishin out my rig. plus...it takes me half a box to shoot six birds standing, cant imagine how much it would take layin down lol

Gonna get me a new 35 void de warranty with mods - a high dolla custom stick welded hull - slick de bottom with polly - and ain't never gonna get STUCK ever again - cuz I'll just sit ther and do 4000 rpm clutch drops till de tide comes back in.....

We took Larry D's hide with a 6000 MB out and Radar Gunned it.

With 500 lbs of peeps in it and a few other small items it ran28-30 in deep water and got it up to 32mph in real skinny water but only for a little bit. It does well once up on plane but modderate prop wear even on a Big Blade killed Hole Shot.
