i talkedd to ben today and he said that they were running 6 weeks... they got 44 on order and build about 7/week. the math works. he admits the cust service is less than he'd like it to be. seems an honest and forthright guy.

Post Re: Dixie Mud Motors
I just put a Dixie 35hp on my boat today, and ran it for a short first time drive-it blistered my skin, and peeled back my eyeballs. It went through thick grasses and lillies with ease. It has tons of torque. The motor is all that I wanted and more. I am just a regular guy that is 6'5" 300 lbs and has a hunting buddy that is 6'3" and 250. I upgraded from a super slow go-devil longtail and could not be happier! I can only tell you, these people who have previously posted must not know the motor-it is built super strong and solid and runs like a bat out of hell. I dealt with Ben, the owner, and he is totally honest and dependable. If you are looking for a motor, this one, in my opinion, is the most affordable and the best built on the market. I plan to run the boat more over the 4th and will have speeds and more info.

They are a small company and it will take 4-5 weeks to make your motor. Trust me, I went through the same thing and the wait sucked but in the end it was def worth the wait. You save tons of money over going with the big companies and my 23 kicks ass. Ben the owner will literally talk to you everyday until its ready if needed. Just be patient bc it's worth it

Was this a joke? I've never had skin burn and my eyes peeled back running less than 30 mph. Sounds like there may be a problem, lol.

A 1442 flat bottom. Usually hunt 3 + gear...not too heavy. Should push it pretty good if this motor is as good as people say. I've been running a Yamaha 20 hp 4 stroke around 20 mpg.

We'll see. We are under 750 total weight in the boat. Eventually I'm going to upgrade to a 15 phowler sneak boat., that's why I decided to go with a 23hp.

The weight is just one piece of the equation. The surface area of the bottom of the boat is equally, if not more, important. The 23 you're getting will actually perform better with a bigger boat, say 1650 or so, because the rig will float higher. Hopefully it works great for you when you get it. However if it plows and won't plane, try it on a larger boat.

Alright everyone, I stand corrected concerning Dixie Mud Motors. There was some mis-communication with my order....anyway, the bottom line is that Ben is going out of his way to make it right and fill this order. I'll post more info as soon as I take it out!

What do you guys think would cause the belt to have grooves cut in it? I think this is what is causing my belt noise. I've only taken it out twice. I'm sure Ben will take care of it was just hoping you guys knew something Bc I want to take it out this weekend.

Grooves on the inside or outside of the belt?

Alright guys, I met with Ben today to pick up my new 23hp Dixie Mud Motor and I'm here to tell you it's a beast. Hands down its a great product. I was not only impressed with the motor, but the fact Ben was willing to go out of his way to come meet me, explain all the ins and outs of my new motor, and then take me out for a test drive, really speaks highly for this new company. The 23 hp model performed even better than I had hoped and I look forward to putting it back in the water this week. I can't speak for the other brands out there, but I am definitely happy with this Dixie!

Ok seems that it's too long of a bolt in the belt housing. Easy cheap fix. I cannot explain enough how awesome the customer service has been once recieving the motor. Not only did Steve from utah(dealer) hit me up this morning with my concern and speak to me for half an hr on a holiday but the owner Ben also called at 1030 last night helping me. When I had my Beavertail I would have to wait 3 days before I got a phone call back with no solution. These guys are awesome and build quality products.

I've got a 11hp Dixie with the predator engine on a 1544 riveted G3. By myself(215) and minimal gear im hitting 26mph in shallow water. With a buddy that about the same weight as me we were hitting a constant 17mph shallow water.

I was looking at the 6.5 hp one for a layout boat but it seems like the only people reviewing them have only 1 or 2 posts which seems like they may be trolls. Anyone here who isn't a possible troll?
