I found a used mb23 mini for my 1448 allweld mod-v. Problem is its a short shaft and my boat is a tall transom. Could I mount the motor to the jack plate I have for my outboard to get it lowered or is that a bad idea? What dose it cost to turn a short transom motor to a tall? Is this a good motor for my boat? |

If your on a budget its much cheaper to cut the transom down, if you do that it might be hard to sell. Personaly I like having the tall sides and getting the motor down. I run really tight waters with alot of down trees to get under, others like to have the engine as far as possible from the water and like the tall transom. |

cut the transom if you plan on selling sell as a package if not add a full size pod with a transom on the back at the height you need this would serve a lot of purpose such as gettin in the boat and dog ramp and extra flotation should help you under a load then find a hot rod shop or some one who can weld aluminum and have them build it for you.....do a pressure check on it to make sure it is water tight. then fill it with spray foam from home depo or put a pipe nipple and valve and fill it with air...my 1448 is a 19 inch transom i have ran both sizes and they work great on long tails i also run a 15hp mercury and it is short it does cavatate on hard turns and under load takes a bit to plane out...if im bymyself shes all i need try a jack plate and lower it in save some bucks it might work if not pm me on the motor ill buy it from you lol |

You gotta allow for the motor to kick up.......when I add my huntdeck im gonna experiment with a split mount to allow motor to kick up and have room for the hydrolic trim. |

Seems like it would be the shit to have it on a Hydr.Jack plate so you can move it up and down? But really don't know! |
