Post Re: New MMT Member Intros
I am Tim. I have been around a few weeks. Did not realize there was an intro thread. Posted a few times. I am looking into getting a MM and boat rig. I do not hunt. But I do shoot a lot and own a half dozen weapons from a few pistols, a cool benelli , an AR15 that I have had a few years and an old pump action 22, that I love because it reminds of me of my dad when I was a boy.

I fished with him in the Spillway and Verret and worked out on our family property with him and would not have traded anything for all that time with him. I only get to fish a half dozen times a year now. I shoot more than I fish. But want to do more of that once the boat is decided on.

I am very pro 2nd amendment and do a little activism. I am for expanding more freedoms for all of us and believe in the constitution. I do not care what you do on your property, as long as it will never hurt me, knock yourself out even if it is not safe or whatever. I do not care. Just do not impede on my freedoms because you are trying to keep me safe from myself.

Post Re: New MMT Member Intros
Hey everybody,
new guy here from SETX (between anahuac and smith point)
Been envious of the mud boat guys for many a duck season. got stuck in my brothers outboard really bad 2 seasons ago and blew mine up trying to do mudboat things with an outboard.
I've been wanting to build a little square back inboard pirogue for a while but dont have the time.
I found a good deal on a 12 foot jefferson fiberglass hull. I'll be picking it up in a few weeks when I get in from offshore. It's set up for a long tail but I'm leaning heavily toward trying to put a short tail outboard style mm on it. Thinking about a new 10 horse Dixie (I know! I know!!!) or going ultra cheap with a used long tail something or other in the 8-10 hp range. I'm spread way too thin to hunt as much as I would like to so dumping money into a serious mudboat just doesnt make a lot of sense at this point in my life.

*EDIT* I just realized I had the numbers all jumbled up in my head and the price difference between the Dixie and the copperhead is waaaay smaller than I was thinking. Looks like it's probably going to be a 10 or 12 hp copperhead. But I will probably talk to both mfg's and ask some questions before pulling the trigger.

My name is Chris and im from West TN. I've had a mud motor for several years and have been on this forum but never registered. Im fixing to be forced to make some repairs on my motor so i figured now was a great time to go ahead and join.
All that being said, I am a hunter. Mostly what the motor gets used for. Beavertail may not move as fast but it goes harder and longer than a outboard in these shallow swamps.
As far as occupation I was Wireless Tech. for a company near here. I climbed towers, troubleshot wireless equip. and did fab. work for tower installation and construction. Now I am a broke full time student lol

the carp are so bad on Conroe they jump 3-4' out of the water to eat the leaves off trees, and we catch them on live bait constantly. The neighborhoods put them in to kill all the vegitation. Carp and Bulkheads RUINED lake conroe as far as Im concerned. Id rather fight stumps on the north side then deal with 4ft chop and drunk asians

Been here a few weeks. Didn't see the post. My name is Hunter. Born and raised in Houma, La (Bayou Black). Joined the Army after graduating nursing school. Currently stationed in Bethesda, Maryland (Walter Reed). Honored to serve and help rebuild the lives of our soldiers getting blown up in Afghanistan. If I am not working, I am dreaming or preparing for the next hunt. My GTB should be here in 2-3 wks!
