Beachbummer,

Thank you for sharing your plight with all of us. If you have convinced one person on here to get an exam early and often, you have done well. This my friend, could be part of God's plan for you...to get your story out and touch the lives of others. I will continue to keep you in my prayers and wish you the best.

I currently await the results of my PSA screening results. Thankfully, I am allowed an annual physical with the option of full blood/urine labwork. Some people think this is the way a large corporation may "weed-out" employees. I have a co-worker who, last year, was very thankful for the PSA screening.

Hey Todd,

You keep hanging in there and fighting your best day to day.

My family and I have been keeping you in our prayers, and you let me know when you are ready to get back on the water to chase some redfish this summer or we'll shoot some early geese come September...if you are up to it.
You give me a call whenever you can.

This post hit close to home to me this morning. My father faught lung cancer that spread to his bones manly in his spine i was always in question bc everytime i talked to him he was always worried about you would never want pity or simpathy... his story touched so many people and his always positive attitude brought many peopleto the lord he never met a stranger.. i can remember sitting in md anderson and my dad asking me to push his wheelchair around so he could go.witness to.someone.. always wondered how someone that couldnt walk anymore and couldnt do the things he loved like hunt and fish could still wake up every morning with a big smile.on his face.. i pray the dear lord heals.you of this disease and u endure no more pain i pray he gives u a peace over u and your family that everything is in hands i pray for the doctors that he guides their hands and their minds to know the right directions for your treatment... i know.i have never.met you.and my heart.pours out. Prayers to you and your family.god is in control and like my dad always said keep your knees dirty..

I am doing ok just had a 6th infusion yesterday, and just finished my 25 strait radiation therapy 2 weeks ago. Needless to say I have been week. I will more than likely have 2 more infusions next week. I have had so far 49 radiation treatments. 6 infusions and 10 days off and on in the hospital. the last time I was in the hospital my friend came down from Charlotte and I took him fishing, with the mud motor in the ocean talk about a place for a fish out of water. The ride beat me to death and the pain was horrible. I am still on here just tired I have my good day and bad days if you need to get a hold of me also look up Joe Guide he is a friend. sorry for not being on as much I have just had some trouble and hunting season has not even started.

Post subject:  Re: cancer

I got a good report Tuesday. my PSA has fallen some more, and my red blood cell count is stabilizing. I am still weak and these cold fronts and storms are kicking my but. my doctor even gave me the green light to ride bike stationary my balance is to bad to ride my mtn bik. and I took a nasty fall in the mountains Trout fishing. I got to fish about 5 minutes before falling. The doctor also said the weight loss was not a problem right now he wanted me to loose a little more anyway. I dont think its a problem either the nurses grabbed me the other week and would not let me go without a hug. that was in the radiation dept. It was a moral booster to say the least. oh one more thing. the hospital coordinator told me if there was anything I needed to let him know joking I said I need a handicap ramp to get into the house. it was all I could do to get up the steps. this past Monday they came and built a deck with a ramp on our house. God is real and works through many different channels. I am so thankful I have a family outside of my family I can talk to you guys always lift me up your thoughts and prayers are inspiring, and they help me make it through some tuff times to say the least. I would like to thank each of you for your concerns..

Dang Beach....I really feel your pain as I also fought a long hard battle with Prostate cancer. So far i am winning the battle but there are some serious scars. The most improtant thing is to keep your personal faith, and know, really know that we all love you from the deepest parts of our hearts and souls as does God above. We pray that you will be given relief from the worry, pain, and unknown and that you will overcome this cancer by keeping a positive attitude and trust in God.

Remember too that each of us is always here to lend an ear when you need it.

Love you man,

Curl

Post subject:  Re: cancer

right now they have me doing more radiation BUT I have some good news well to me it is. I was diganosed last October, and was given 2 months to live. well they did a bone scan Monday and the radiation doctor said the cancer was only a little worse than when I first came there. well that was last March, and the doctors still had not found anything that was working. The oncologist worked until late July before he found something that worked its called Zitiga the first month my PSA went from 295 to 169 the 2nd month if fell again just not as much it went down to 153. up until that point I had not had a drop in my PSA for 2 months in a row, so I am very pleased. I am having trouble with these cold fronts coming through they are making life ruff, but they are working on that to. The bone scan showed where the cancer is and yes it looks like I've been shot with a shotgun, but it did not look as bad as the first 1 at least the cancer was in less places. Last year it was all over and in very small spots this time it was in fewer places and larger spots. radiation doctor says its easier to treat. the places I can fell it at have not been treated yet so thats a plus we can zap em out.

Guys thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I lean on them hard every day, so please don't forget me.

I'm very happy to get a good report from you, Beach! I'm clearly no doctor, but this positive, upbeat, and matter of fact attitude you've had all along has to be doing some good too. I can tell you that your struggle has already taught me a lot. I really do enjoy getting your updates, and I wish you all the best! I'd really appreciate the opportunity to shake your hand one day, but until then, stay strong, brother.
