I am moving my cranking battery from up front to inside my rear seat box. Im trying to figure out what the best way to run the battery cables into this seat box is? What are yall putting on the hole drilled into the aluminum to prevent chafing on the wires? Sorry if this is a newbie question but I hate wiring and I suck at it..
Thanks

I'm interested in this style wire grommet now , just get the proper size to fit your wire

small stuffing tube or rubber grommet is what I will normally use, depends if its in an area that you are trying to keep the hole waterproof

i used a conduit 90 elbow for mine and positioned it with the bend going down. Youd probably be ok with it open being the water would have to go up to get in, or run your wires in bilge/vac hose and get an elbow the hose clamps snugly in. Pictured is 1-1/8" hose and 1" conduit elbow

Home Depot is where i got the elbow and the hose was from the local hardware store.

Cut a whole with hole saw. Mount 90 degree elbow on INSIDE of box, angled UP. Run wires. Block off hole on outside of box. Fill elbow from inside with expanding foam. Could use foam for any wires in a conduit to totally waterproof. Be a bitch to undo though.
