i bought phowler this spring and every time i look at the underside i see a new battle wound. yeah i'm new to this whole mud boat thing but don't ever feel hitting anything. Just wondering how common it is to dent up the bottom of your boat. dents aren't huge just like golf ball sized. |

running rocks, stumps and logs with a factory style boat isnt going to hold up dont try to beat them out... it will make it weaker |

Is the hull 5086 with .125 aluminum? If not, thats probably why |

Yes it's 5086 .125 hull. When I had this boat built I thought i'm not that hard on shit 1/8 will be fine. Next one will be 3/16 for sure. seems like most of my dents appear on right on the tapered chime are. I can see why this would be the weakest place bacause theres no bracing right along there. |

I bought a 17 48 custom with a 1/8 bottom had some hooks in it and was thinking that it was hurting performance so i tooke the double bottom out and cut a 6x6 that would fit between my rib and cross braces and laid it on the concrette with 4x4 under it.. to my excavator and pushed the hooks out and goy it as good as o could gained 3 mph just by doing this |
