Just got my 35hp Dmm last week, been workin on gettin everything done on my boat, wiring and such, well I finished up last night went and ran it after work. Specs on this motor are 32" shaft, 12x10 hill marine prop, cmc tilt, electric clutch, engine thus far is stock. Chasing a 16x48 alweld. At first I was running 25mph , 3700 Rpms. Adjusted throttle to 4200rpms, running 31mp by myself 29.9 with two people, 28.7 with three. All in all, couple problems, belt was loose, have to shim the engine. Not a big problem. 20min fix. All in all ran great after Rpms were corrected. I'll keep y'all updated as more hours are put on it. Oh, rig cost 4500, not bad considering I had Ben modify the frame, it's a lot more beefy in the lower unit and mounting bracket. Any questions just hit me up be glad to give anyone a ride if interested. |

Nice, I bet that thing would fly with some modds. Was that shallow or deep water speeds? What modds did he make to the frame? |

both. i was in about 6 inches of water most of the time and the place of choked with lillies and widgeon grass, bout 3 inches at starting point. after that got in the main river and it did the exact same thing, 31, 29.9, and 28.7. i had him extend the skeg all the way to the bottom of the belt housing, it used to stop where the housing and shaft met, now it goes all the way to the bottom of the housing, il post some pics in a few when i get back here, gotta run some errands. oh, alo, i had him extend that "swoosh"(the piece on top of the shaft looks like a fin) now its about 2 inches from the end of the shaft. its pretty damn impressive, but only time will tell how it holds up. |
