 Slack sound at helm... On a center console ultraflex stering system is it normal to have a clicking sound at helm when turning slightly Left or right...motor not running?

Re: Slack sound at helm... Mine Never did so I would say yes. Is it coming from the hydraulic steering or the steering linkage?

Re: Slack sound at helm... I have heard it in my hydraulic steering once when "almost" stuck. But motor was in a bind in some pretty mean stuff.

Re: Slack sound at helm... I would have to say no it is not normal. Check your hydraulic lines and make sure one is not kinked or pinched. Is your fluid low?

Re: Slack sound at helm... As I recall on mine, the motor really had nowhere to go and was in a bind against some solid clay like stuff. As I turned the wheel, I got that feeling/sound from the steering as though it was the old teleflex rod guide steering with the worm gear when it gets loose or worn.

Re: Slack sound at helm... No this is like when you check for slack in tie rod ends on a truck.....just left to right a bit to check for play....click click click...like a vein is dropping into postion. Are these helm pumps vein type pumps?
