Browsing Gator-Tails website at work and noticed the package section. Clicked on it and found several rigs that were ready to hit the water. One in particular caught my eye. The 1846/35 combo. For you GT boys, is that the everyday price on that combo or is it just a leftover from last year? I've been thinking of trying another brand but I have yet to drive a GT on a GT boat. I've only driven a GT on a Xpress Bayou and although it's nice it did not impress me. Hopefully will drive a GT combo at our run in SC in two weeks.

legend, how come you are getting a custom built if the gtr/gtb is the way to go? Just wondering because I know that going with borel you are not saving any money over a custom gtb.

so customs are better than production boats....thats what ive said all along but you were stating go with the combo on one thread and get a custom on another......I was just trying to get at where you were coming from.....and from what ive heard, gtb will build a ground up custom the way you want it also, any size any accessory.

from what ddm said, they are a fully custom outfit.....figured they would take the materials for a 54" and cut the sides down after the bottom crimp for you......maybe they are only fully custom to some of their customers.......Oh Terry, where are you hiding out? a little help would be good on this topic, and with you not posting, im catching you on your post count

Gator-Tail built my custom hull I stared with an 1860 GTB and told them exactly what I wanted. Too many people are afraid to pick up the phone. Call the builders don't e-mail 'em.

I think one thing you all don't understand about places like Gatortail, gatortrax and others is they don't build 1-2 boats a month. These company's are putting out 30-40 a month. Im mainly concerned about duals now but I know they build 3-4 duals a month and everyone is pretty much custom. My boat is custom from front to back. You won't one like it get your check book out and call Kyle he will be more than happy to do it. By the way it's a 3 piece boat.

a custom builder can also build you an exact copy of a gtb or pdb or gator trax if that is what you want......

GT wouldnt build the size I wanted after I heard all the talk about them being just as custom as any other "backyard" builder... Doesn't seem too custom. More like a war eagle/ express with preset models and you are allowed to choose your accessories.
