I want to raise the end of my tiller 4-6 in so I can drive it standing up occasionally. I know some of y'all have done this, if you could post some pics of how you did it that would be great. Maybe someone wouldn't mind giving a detailed description. It looks like the studs might be too short for what I want to do.

Sounds like you have a short transom motor. The best solution to that IMO would be to convert your boat and motor to a tall transom. You would raise the entire setup by 4" in doing so.

I'd like to see a simple solution too. I prefer to run my boat standing up. I can see better and I am well clear of the tiller in case I hit something. Unfortunately, I end up sitting more than I care to, just to be able to hold the tiller more comfortably. It would save some back strain if the tiller were a little higher.

I put some washers, but it only raise it up about 1/2''....i would like about 3'', i think longer studs would work..

you could get some polyurathane spacers that they use to body lift trucks with

I think a 2" with the bushings would be good

might have to get a longer rod for the throttle linkage

If you start raising it up too much, like 4-6", you will need to be running a mikuni I would think. Doubt you could make the stock linkage work raising it that high.

I have a tall transom boat and motor, I'm just really tall. I want to change the angle of it. I was hoping I could lower the back 1/2 inch and raise the front, maybe with new studs 1.5 inches. I think this would get me the height I want and still be able to use the stock linkage. What do y'all think? How can I change those studs out? I'm not sure how to remove them.

I know there's a thread somewhere about a floating PD handle, that may do it too while still having a comfortable sitting position height.

Had to raise mine. I have a "Franken-motor". It used to be a 25hp (notice the smaller web between the handle and bottom plate). This had to be done to help align the linkage better with the 32hp. Now that I switched to a Mikuni I could have taken out the spacers but I like the height of the handle so I left them on. Just drilled and tapped some solid aluminum.
PAY ATTENTION- If you lift it like this you can only go up so high. This brings the bottom plate on the handle closer to the connections on the bottom of your starter. Clear as mud?
