Post subject:  Will a SD work on a boat with pods?

I have an Xpress boat with floatation pods on the back and with a longtail was runnin 23 mph on gps in deep water. I want to put a SD on it but have concerns for two reasons. The first issue and the least I'm concerned about is the turning radius getting close to the pods in the back. The second issue and the most critical I think is the pods stick of the back of the transom about 16 inches and I'm afraid they are going to displace too much water past the transo$ away from the prop. When I'm runnin in the shallows where my boat is touching bottom. There is dry ground I can see right out the back of the boat and I'm afraid there is not gonna be enough water there to push the boat. Does anyone here have this set-up or seen someone use a SD with pods. I need help. Thanks

biggest question is what SD?

also get the measurement on how far the pods stick out the back

Every motor except PD has alot more swivel on their motors to turn more

Meaning (these are example not real numbers) If a Gatortail motor is turned all the way to the right/left its gonna be alot closer to the back of the motor then the PD will because the PD has rubber bumpers to stop it from turning quite so far

Then if you get a PD most folks who have pods cant use the Full power reverse

Also dunno exactly what you're talkin bout with displacing water to the prop...but when you're on plane the pods arent even supposed to be touching the water except right where they are tied into the transom
