this is a pic of a boat exactly like mine. it is a 15' starcraft riveted aluminum v hull. the transom is 16", im not sure where to measure the width. this is NOT A MUD BOAT BY ANY MEANS, and i understand that. but for some shallow water running, in just mud, ABSOLUTELY no logs or stumps or rocks, can this work with a longtail for a season or two, until i get a real mud boat? i mean, is there anything about this that i could not handle a longtail, or that would make it dangerous?
question 2, what size would you get to get 2 hunters, and gear, about 500 lbs total of both, on plane? i was told by several makers that a 13 hp longtail would do it, but im not so sure. i am looking for a top speed of 10 mph, just so i get on plane, im happy. will a 13 do it?
