Looks like there were some older threads on this so at the risk of getting reemed ... What's the deal are they available? The web site has info and pricing but it has an asterisk and "not available" on the web page.

the V is discontinued..and the H is still in "testing"
junk..id advise to stay away and get something trustworthy like gtr or pd if youre looking

I am pretty sure they haven't discontinued the V but they are no longer selling the 36 HP "V". I do get the feeling that Mud Buddy is putting all their eggs in the "H" and are spending more time getting this one correct the first time. That would leave a bad taste in my mouth if I bought a V and had some of the problems they have been plagued with.

sorry..i misread...here is directly from glleennn

We have a massive 465 Sport V and H motors on backorder. We get more orders than we can build each day so are going to reduce motor models.

As of Dec 1, the Sport V model 36 will be discontinued. All backordered 36 vertical motor orders will be honored.

Other Sport V and H models will be discontinued in 2014 along with longtail, super longtail and sport merc motors. However, all 44 and 50 models will be retained.

From what I've gathered is that they are dropping most of the models they have for their performance engines and sticking to 35, 44 and 50 on everything horizontal and only 44 and 50 on the vertical.

Our local dealer has 'em and is still selling them. They did have at least 2 tiller handles break while under power and the end result was a wreck. They quit ordering them for a while and I don't know if they started ordering them or if they are still pushing their old stock. They've had a a few for a while.

And of course Freddy is running his. :roll:
