Looks like they're advertising the electric clutch on the tiller motors finally. Anyone have one? http://www.gator-tail.com/motors.html |

That's what Kyle told me when I ordered mine. I kept on about it but finally gave up. And don't feel bad about getting your hopes up, I was going to call in the morning and tell him add it! ![]() |

It should be available for tillers. This current outdated brake system has run it's course and time for it to become obsolete. Based on what I've seen first hand on a tiller with electric reverse, it would take GTR to a whole 'nother level in the mud motor game. The electric reverse is truly a beast and will not be fucked with. Take that to the bank. CJB |

Bet it never makes it into the publics hands. Had a buddy make a good point about it. Not safe on a tiller. But what do I know... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Post subject: | Re: GTR electric reverse |
we have it on console model and like mentioned before the electric reverse doesnt slip at all (which makes it badass in reverse) but just think last time u where reversing and u backed up into a log it threw u semi towards motor and u immediately let go reverse lever. the electric clutch doesnt give. we have backed up into shit while bowfishing with the electric reverse and it is violent and ends up killing motor. |

Shit even if they made it with a contact switch that worked off the existing brake handle would work. It would be momentary and you'd be able to let off if needed. |

i dont think it will be that much of a safety issue as it would be warranty repairs from people breaking shafts or planetarys |

Post subject: | Re: GTR electric reverse |
I don't understand why this would be a safety issue. My outboard stays in forward or reverse whether or not I'm even in the boat! They already have a kill switch. It'd be absolutely no different than every outboard on the market. |

it will come just give it time... im sure GT doesnt want to pull a MB we had the first one introduced outside of R&D and had problems with it in beginging. there are quite a few people testing now and seems to be getting to be compelete. our has almsot 100 hours on it now with about 85 of those being in 6" of water or less... |

all i can say is in time it will come out, it is badass but if they just threw it out there, there phone would be blowing up. from when we got it we had issues at 4, 7, 12 hours on motor. 3 issues withing first 12 hours. when GT believes its 100% they will throw it out there. untill then if you want it that bad go buy you a console motor and swap it over to tiller ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I can get all the pictures y'all want of how it's done this evening. I have to change the oil in my transmission. Not sure what would be different between a tiller and steering ready though. I've hit plenty of stuff in mine in reverse ( only have 35 hrs on it ) and no problems yet. |
