Just bought my first surface drive and trying to become acquainted with it and educated on all the moving parts...

Is there a owner manual or a exploded view of the drive shaft assembly? I'm assuming the motor block is nothing more then a mower engine, so I could use that parts list. What motors does pro drive use?

Just looking for all and any information on it so I can learn more about it. I also need to replace the Skeg eventually, it has a nice 2 inch crack at the very bottom...

Other then that does anyone have a list of suggested maintenance chores to do at specific hours? It only has roughly over 100 and runs solid, and oil changed regularly.

Thanks in advance.

It's a 2003, and I've just learned I may need to replace the top seal. Draining it now and about to flush it. Once refilled I'll run it once and check it again. If still leaking where can I get the top seal at? If not too bad to replace, I might do the bottom as well.

Thanks in advance guys

Well, drained and flushed the lower unit. Took it for a spin and had this sitting on top. I'm assuming I definitely need to replace the top seal?

The prop seal needs to be replaced most likely. Call Pro-Drive tomorrow and ask for Peck.

Been talking with peck, he suggested just to flush/drain then run it again. After tonight I agree... Probably need that seal.

Just ordered the bottom seal from peck this afternoon. Going to tear it down next Monday or Tuesday and assess what else I need... Possibly top seal as well and I want to get a better look at the clutch assembly. Does anyone have a video or direct link when replacing these seals?

Thanks

I thought I remember reading something somewhere about using marine grade grease in correlation with the seals?!

Surely I read this incorrectly? I plan on doing my lower seal tomorrow and would like to know...

Just pull the prop, replace old seal, and put new nut on right?

Thanks
