I noticed both my trailer tires were wearing more on the inside tread. It doesn't appear the axle is bent, and the trailer itself is built sturdy by appearance (McClain). I never carried a real heavy load, maybe the guy I bought it from did. Anyone know a way to tell for sure if somthings out of wack? The spring brackets are welded in place, so I don't think the axle has shifted, both tires are showing the same wear almost like the trailer was grossly over loaded.

Spindle is probably bent up a little. Very common. Bouncing in potholes will do it. Glad we got good roads in La. :o

It can very possibly be not perfect from the manufactor. Most trailers arn't perfect. If they are lasting a while before wearing to the point of needing to being changed, just roll with it. Trailer tires are usually made cheap any way.

I don't think axles themselves are too expensive (I hope). I may just swap it out. There is a trailer place not too far from the house that may be able to change the spindles or at least check to see if thats the problem. If I didn't trailer the boat far, I'd let it roll. Our lease is about an hour from the house and I have to cross a long bridge (Bonnie Carrie/Lake Ponchatrain) and I'd hate to have a tire go out on that thing. I checked the axle itself this afternoon and it appears ok. I think the spindles are what's bent.

You can get them precision realigned. Not sure of the place but my dad had it done a few times on his boat somewhere in baton rouge.

Yep, crappy ol' carlise tires. Think thats the problem? Still I would think even with crappy tires they'd wear more even. I mean I got a 1/4" ledge on the two inside treads on both tires.

The carlise's have been known to wear uneven.get a better grade trailer tire and you will see the differance.

You can maybe contact Jims wheel alighnment,Able spring and alighnment or margot and see what they can do for you. hope this helps.

Ok; gonna visit my bro-in-law this weekend in Austin who's a tire rep for some big tire outfit. I'm gonna bring my rims and see if he can fix me up with some quality rubber. Chances are he'll put way more tire on there than what I need, but at least I can cross that off the list.

put a square up next to em on the flat floor. I had the same thing on one side of my bullet trailer. when the welded the spindles in they just tacked one side and it pulled when they welded it. putting a good set of tires on there is just ruining a good set of tires if it's not square.

cutt down nailed it - when it's time to replace just replace with some some radials - they will last 3x's as long and ride alot better too.
