Post subject:  Which Custom Builder

I have been looking at getting a boat built lately and have narrowed it down to WC Customs, Deadfowl Custom boats, and Shallow Water Customs. Wondering if yall had some insight on which route to go. Thanks.

I don't know much About the other builders but I can tell you about WCcustomboats. Pete is super easy to deal with and will build anything you want the way you want. Gives really good suggestions as well. Gave me a really good price on my rig ! If you have any questions just PM me

I'm going with Rj at dead fowl whenever I order mine. He had the best quote for everything I wanted on my boat and his work looks really good!

RJ and Peter both build good boats. Can't really go wrong with either one.

I don't own one but have seen a couple of WC boats and they look good, Talked to the owners and they loved them. Just my 2 cents worth.

I think I am going to end up going with WC Customs. My original plan was to get a 1750 built. Anyone have any suggestions on maybe going a different route on the size?

2068

Lol
Seriously though, without more info on what you expect and want from your boat, the size question is a shot in the dark.

I coming from a 1642 southfork with a 50 tohatsu on it. i want something that has some good speed by myself but also decent with it loaded with 3 people, but i also would like to be able to hunt out of it also with a boat blind if i needed to. I don't run any type of big water with it. No stumps or timber or anything like that. I don't know if that helps or not.

Size wise? Sounds like you'd be good to go with an 1848 and the big block surface drive of your choice.

I have a 1748 (it's 17 total including huntdeck), does fine with 3 (and I didn't even have a 35, was still getting 19 with 3. A 1652 or wider, 1748, 1844. Any of those or wider. .100 or .125 (most everyone here will suggest .125) Mine is .125". With a stock 35, they'll all work fine for what you're describing. If they aren't fast enough for you, that's where mods come in.
