boat speed
i bought a 1760 lowe roughneck boat with a godevil 35hp surface drive motor. with two guys open water i only get 15 mph no matter how deep or shallow i set the prop .any help or suggestions would be needed.

does not matter if i get 3700 3800 or 3900 rpm still the same speed.

Check prop size and wear. You should be running better than that regardless of hull unless its hooked to shit. I would say low 20's with a stock motor light load. If you are only turning 3800 rpms you are leaving a lot of rpms in the motor yet. Should be able to turn that stock motor/carb to 4100-4200. Are you getting a rooster tail when you are running?

Can you tell us a little more about the motor? New/used, hours, mods, condition, etc. Any odd noises, does it sound like it is bogging out? Are you getting on a plane @ 15. Also not trying to be a dick but want to make sure you are trimming it up high enough to run like a mud motor should - with the prop about half way out of the water (not completely submerged like an outboard). Are you getting a 'rooster tail' at 15?

Is your prop wrong? Do you have a tall transom motor on a short transom hull? Not the best hull for a surface drive but you should be seeing better speeds
