Anybody have broken baffles on a Q? Mine does. It also has a cracked pipe where it meets the flange on one side. The other side is cracked where it meets the muffler.

Haven't heard or read any complaints about the Q. It has a pretty solid reputation. I put nearly 300 hours on my Q before the outlet cracked. And really, I blame myself for that crack. The only drawback of removing the cavitation plate from my PD...it allowed water to spray up on the hot muffler. It started buckling and the outlet weld eventually cracked. I loved and miss my BPS Q. |

How many hours are on it? What was it mounted to? If you have relatively low hours i'd call BPS and see if they could help you out. Doesn't hurt to ask. |

I had a Q crack numerous times with under 20hours. Took it to a guy that welds stainless custom headers for a living. Said it was the thinest junk SS he has ever seen. |

It probably has around 100 hours on it. I'm just going to weld it back up and see if it holds. |

I've got two cracks in mine 2, got them at about 75 hours. If I unplug my spark plugs, can I safely weld the cracks with the muffler still mounted to the motor? I'm lazy. |

I just pulled my BPS Q off my Mud Buddy Kohler 27. Both pipes off the motor cracked at the muffler. There's additional metal missing from the hole towards the middle of the muffler on each side also. Going to try and see if I can get it rewelded. Have roughly 100 hours on the muffler. Are there any other options for my Kohler 27 other than stock or Q? I haven't found anything. Nathan |

While working n my boat I looked into the muffler and saw a baffle turned the wrong way. IT is also broke. Wonder if this causes any performance issues. I guess it could be clogging the muffler. Ugh. |

I have a 23 hp single q from bps. Cracked on one side and completely came off the other side. Loud as hell! Flange fell off when I unbolted it. Only thing holding the muffler were the bolts from the opposite side. 280 hours on it. Welded it up and 2 new gaskets and she's back in business till the next time I guess |

Is everyone using the extra bracing. The reason I ask is I have had the same Q on two different engines for 8yrs now with no issues. |

Negative on extra bracing here. Could barely get it to fit right. I know that's part of the problem |
